Perfect for my Zen gardens

Years ago I added normal sand to wall paint and the look was great. However I read there could be interferences with paint composition using normal sand from the beach or desert, so I tried this out when I next decorated my room, which a few weeks ago now. Amazing.Thought the size of the granules might not be large enough. I was happily proven wrong. Pretty much perfect for my aesthetic. With a little trial and error, the look I wanted required at least 300g sand to 1000mL paint (just say one third sand to paint). 2 coats of paint were needed. I used Craig & Rose paint and that worked well.I like the fact the sand is white, which complemented the paint I used for the walls. I used a natural bristled brush combined with the dab technique. Employing the normal brush stroke method resulted in significantly bare areas devoid of sand texture. For a 6m2 room I used almost 2.5-3kg sand.When I redecorate another room in this fashion I will certainly buy more of this sand. My mother has seen the effect and now wants it for one of her rooms.
