I am a regular DIY'er over many years, and I have used many spade bits of varying prices and quality. I can in all honesty say that this flat spade bit is the very best I have ever used. I have just fitted a new lock and needed this 35mm bit. The bit went through the wooden door without any effort, it was brilliant!If anyone is intending doing a similar job and has never done the job before, my tip is to drill a pilot hole through the wood first then use the spade bit to go partly through on one side, then finish the hole by going in from the other side. This way you will get a clean hole without any splintering.
