These silicone earring backs are a tight squeeze to get onto thicker wires but then it means they are really secure. I have given them 5 stars although not ideal for all my earrings, because they didn’t claim to be suitable for the type in my photo. I have shown these as the exception.The pearl earrings in my photo have a long trailing hook so were not supplied with backs as I suppose you wouldn’t expect them to fall out. But I did have one fall out when it got caught up in a scarf and I don’t want to lose them.The earring backs have quite a large flat circle of silicon that is supposed to fit against the back of your ear lobe, and this works well with plain stud b ack earrings, but as you can see from the top earring in my photo, it can’t sit at the angle needed for this type of hook wire. It pushes my ear lobe forward.But all is not lost! With so many in the packet I was happy to experiment by trimming the larger silicone disk and I ended up with the result shown in the bottom earring in the photo. This works fine and I am no longer worried about my earrings falling out.The backs work well with my stud earrings including one set supplied with little gold butterfly earrings that became loose with time. I have replaced the gold backs with these silicon ones.
