I am helping a friend decorate the apartment she recently moved in to. Aside from repainting walls, she decided the door frames and skirting board need to be stripped back to bare wood and repainted. We used a heat gun (highly recommended) to remove most of the several layers of gloss paints and undercoats on the wood. However, we were left with a very thin and slightly uneven layer of residual paint. We found it frustrating to remove this with a sheet of sanding paper wrapped around a sanding block.When I saw this item, I decided to try it since the handle looked more ergonomic to hold than a sanding block. It has exceeded our expectations. It has probably cut the time required for sanding by threefold or fourfold compared to using a sheet of sanding paper wrapped around a sanding block. The slim handle has enabled us to get into awkward spots, like the bottom of the skirting board where it meets the (bare) floor, and also the approximately 3mm thin top of the skirting board.The Velcro-style backing of the strips of sandpaper make it easy to attach the strips to the handle, and to later remove them. My only criticism is that the sandpaper strips are about 1mm or 2mm wider than the surface they attach to. Because of this, when I align the sandpaper along one side of the handle, the sandpaper juts out slightly from the other side, so sometimes I have to reposition the sandpaper when I am sanding down the edge of a surface. But this is only a minor quibble and not worth deducting a star.

Love the size of this sanding tool! I use it for my scroll saw projects. The variety of grits also.

This a very useful tool! The components are of very good quality and well designed. The grip is perfect for the intended use, the sandpaper is of good quality and does not peel off even after repeated use. It is very easy to remove, align and add new sandpaper. Used it to sand down a varnished oak indoor ramp (handrail and posts) in order to paint it. It is also perfect to sand down kitchen cabinet doors. One must have this in one’s toolbox.
