I have a roller shutter garage door and the golden rule when opening a roller shutter door is to - 'Remove the key' from the lock before lifting the door up.I also have a gormless 15 year old son who can't remember golden rules. Put them together and what do you get? Answer - A broken key, snapped off in the lock.I had already tried to remove the snapped off key with a sewing needle and a pair of my daughters eyebrow tweezers, with no luck, as the lock is quite stiff and I couldn't get a decent grip of what was left if the key. After trying again, with this great little set of locksmiths hand tools, they have made what I thought would be quite a difficult job, pretty easy really. I just squirted some WD-40 into the lock and simply slide a thin wire tool into the lock. A few wiggles later, there was enough of the key showing for me to grab hold of it with my fingers. I didn't even need to use the tweezers that come included in the set.
