These worked good. The magnet had a hard time holding on through the suit jackets (Jos. A. Banks suits) but the guys were able to make them work for our wedding. I made DIY boutonnieres and they came out how I intended & no pin holes needed.

These are boutonniere magnets for corsages, and to fasten other flower small arrangements.It wasn't clear that it was necessary to use two of them, and I thought they were folded in half, but they don't work like that. A pair of these are needed in order to work as described. I would have liked to see instructions included in the package. Just an image How-to wouldn't be difficult and a huge help. For this reason I took one star away.I selected this item to use as junk journaling closures for pockets or envelopes, or even to magnetically fasten junk journal covers.The manufacturer designed this so that the magnets would be safe, and it's easy to orient them with one another so that they do not repel, but attract and attache.It is possible to remove the magnets from the plastic casing if that's desired to just DIY the magnets for different purposes, but then it's important to be careful about pets and kids so that there is no choing hazard.I gave the product a 4-star review, as I think the design is good and it works as intended, but instructions should be included in the package, since it might not be known this was purchased from Amazon to see the product page, which does give a few clues. I would encourage the manufacturer to add a small set of instructions as well as making customers aware of hazards.

I bought these for prom boutonnieres they did not hold at all

These magnet pairs were intended to attach boutonnieres or small corsages. It took me a minute to figure out that one of strips is supposed to be wrapped onto the flower stem with floral tape while the other is used to secure it the the clothing. I don't have any formal occasions coming up, but I have a monthly meeting that requires me to wear a name tag. The tag is made from cotton material and is most often pinned to my shirt. Sometimes I wear a shirt I don't want to put pinholes in, so I thought I'd give these a try. They are used in pairs. They have four holes in each plastic strip. I took 1 strip and sewed it onto the back of the name tag in the same way I would attach a button. Once that was done I was able to sandwich the two magnetic strips together with my shirt in between. It worked quite well. The magnets aren't so strong that they would withstand a lot of force, but they kept my name tag in place for the four hours of my meeting with no problem. I'm happy I've found a solution that keeps my clothing hole free.
