Graad 5083
Aluminiumrang 5083 is een legering met hoge weerstand, niet-warmtebehandelbare die om zijn uitstekende corrosieweerstand, uitzonderlijke lasbaarheid en goede formability bekend staat. Het wordt vaak gebruikt in maritieme toepassingen, waaronder scheepsrompen en bovenbouwwerken, vanwege het vermogen om zware mariene omgevingen te weerstaan.
Grade 5083 Vs Grade 6082 T6 - Bewerkbaarheid:
Aluminium 6082: Het heeft een goede bewerkbaarheid en kan gemakkelijk worden bewerkt in verschillende vormen en componenten.Aluminium 5083: Hoewel het bewerkbaar is, kan het een grotere uitdaging zijn om te bewerken dan 6082 vanwege het hogere magnesiumgehalte.

Petite tôle en alu de 15mm d'épaisseur de bonne qualité.Nickel pour l'usinage.utilisé ici pour faire une queue d'aronde pour un télescope. Nickel, rien à redire d'où mes 5 étoiles.

This arrived just in a sealed cardboard envelope and the aluminium had ripped a pretty big hole in it as you can see in the image. I think at least a single wrap of bubble wrap or another foam padding material would go a long way to preventing this from dealing damage to other products in an Amazon shipment, thankfully nothing else was in the same package with it.The piece measures 152 mm long, 102 mm wide and 15.3 mm thick from a check with my callipers, so the received piece’s dimensions are larger than advertised. Which is great as it gives you more than enough extra material to square it up or remove surface blemishes. One of the faces is pretty badly scratched up and the edges are covered in tool marks but I wasn’t expecting a flawless piece of aluminium plate so it's within expectations.Price is comparable to other companies selling similar sized pieces of 5083, so I have no real complaints apart from the packaging. Recommended if you are looking for some 5083 aluminium stock on short notice.

Although listed as being 15mm thick it isn't. using a micrometer it actually is 16mm thick meaning I now have to pay someone to skim 1mm from the top or bottom. A nice easy intended modify to make the original base of a cutting tool has now turned out being tiresome and aggravating. Perhaps you should really check your supplier and if you do you will probably find he/she is an American that doesn't know what millimetres are and has used an imperial inch measuring tool and thought " it is close enough " Trade descriptions state if something is said or advertised to be 15mm it can't 16mm or 14mm it must be as advertised accurate. Perhaps a little compensation could be sent to cover some of the extra work required?
