My plan is to use this to connect a solar panel to my indoor battery power station. The waterproofing glands seem very good and there is an O ring where the two halves of the connector screw together. When separated the fixed end has a sturdy screw on cap to keep it dry. Attachment of the electrical cable needs to be done with a solder joint, I will also use shrink tube for protection of each terminal, the terminal pins are made from a good quality copper and aren't just folded sheet but are solid in construction.
