My WF 1000 XM 4 headphones work again! A bit of a process to replace the battery, but with a good youtube video and some patience it worked

I changed the batteries myself of my WF-1000XM3.Charges and holds the charge properly.The original ones of mine were empty after 20 min of usage.

Quite doable with some youtube videos/manuals.The tools are so so, the batteries seem to be the same, and so far they charge and work.Better than binning my 250 euro earphones!

Changer les 2 piles en 30 min environ. S'ouvre très facilement avec un sèche cheveux. L'outillage et la colle fournie est suffisant pour la manipulation.Contrairement à certaine vidéo ne débranchez rien .Il suffit de décoller la petite carte électronique de la pile et il y a largement la place pour extraire la pile. Enlever le résidu de colle sous la pile et au dessous de la carte électronique pour que le contact puisse bien ce faire. Mettre un peu de colle pour maintenir les 2 parties du boitier provisoirement. Pour tester il fallait pour mon cas réintroduire l'oreillette dans le boitier et lancer une charge de quelques secondes sinon elle n’était pas détectée. J'ai perdu du temps au début en pensant qu'il y avait un mauvais contact de la pile, j'ai redressé un peu les 2 petites lames (Attention elles sont très fragiles) et j'avais le même problème de détection. Une fois que l'on est sur que cela fonctionne, on décolle les 2 parties et on finalise le collage définitif. Les oreillettes ont retrouvé les 7H d'autotomie original.

Excellent kit for replacing the batteries. Follow the ifixit guide online. A hairdryer to loosen the glue is good enough. The included razer blade will help to open the gap enough that the included plastic tools can pry open the earbuds. My tip is to try remove the existing glue as much as possible and only use a small amount of glue, pressing very tightly to close the gap.

Does it work? So far yes. The kit supplied offers more than the required tools to get the job done. Even some small elastic bands to hold the buds together for gluing if you don't have clamps are provided.Youtube gives you an idea of what you're going to face, so not spending a few minutes observing one or two tutorials is of course folly. With that in mind, it's best to acknowledge that sometimes the things you want to fix haven't seen these videos and even if they have, may have a rebellious streak in them.I didn't need to disconnect everything as shown in these videos, but there is a very narrow connector cable that if you decide to leave in place, caution would suggest levering its release catch up, thereby giving it enough room to slide itself out if it feels strained. Your journey to the land of music may well end up cut short in disappointment otherwise.Not all manufactured items are equal I experienced, as nudges with a tool on the sides and the battery floats into your arms like a long lost lover was the view depicted on these video streams. Well the magnet that held the battery down in one of mine didn't agree. Trying to keep a lid on frustration, I encountered a battery declaring squatters rights, seemingly stuck down with glue that decided doing its job is all that matters in this world. "No", the magnet uttered. "It's just me". Not disconnecting everything can make a situation like that a bit more challenging.With the potential for a nudge or pull too far whilst attempting to release a stubborn battery, hoisting it at a greater height than expected may result in the narrow cable deciding that you should have paid it more attention, likely meaning the end of your rescue efforts. Skip steps, but be wary, balancing speed with smarter execution is the way to go.I assumed only the battery in the right ear bud needed remedying, as this one died extremely quickly. However after replacing, it highlighted the fact the left bud, while not as bad, was also in need of attention.So far I'm quite pleased, but only time will reveal the quality of the battery replacements.
