Really pleased with the Dunlop heavies. Well priced too.

With my huge thumbs surely large or extra large is best, I thought. Wrong! Extra large is far too long on the picking part, awkward playing. Large might the OK for days when my thumb is really swollen. but when I got medium, and adjusted the hole size, it’s perfect. Here’s what you do: warm the pick in the microwave at full power for 10 or 15 seconds to soften it. Now put it on to stretch the hole and adjust the grip to your thumb (don’t burn yourself by heating too long), then dip in ice water while on your thumb to firm it up again. Now it’s perfect! The picking part is quite short, much more like my regular thumbnail. And after adjustment the hole grip over my thumb is perfect, very comfortable. Easy to maneuver. Get several sizes and try it yourself to figure which one is best for you. Tommy Emmanuel uses Dunlop medium, so that’s good enough for me! If you’ve never used a thumb pick, be patient; it takes some getting used to, quite a learning curve, but worth the effort

Ho acquistato questo ottimo plettro per dito pollice per suonare la chitarra in stile fingerstyle (Tommy Emmanuel o Chet Atkins). Dopo aver visto alcuni video sul web mi sono letteralmente innamorato di questo modo di suonare la chitarra e ho volute subito provare. Questo plettro è una ottima scelta: storico brand USA, ottimo materiale plastico e soprattutto suono meraviglioso!Quando si acquista un plettro per dito pollice, Il primo problema da risolvere è trovare la misura giusta del plettro per il proprio pollice. Le misure più comuni sono la M (media) e la L (large). Ho letto che molti recensori descrivono la misura M (media) troppo stretta per un dito pollice di medie dimensioni e che la misura L (large) sia appena sufficiente.Per comprendere meglio il problema e poter fare la scelta giusta ho così acquistato entrambe le misure (M e L).Dopo varie prove ho compreso alcune cose che vorrei condividere nella speranza di essere utile.Innanzitutto, l'anello del plettro, costruito con materiale molto flessibile, non è completamente chiuso (circa 3/4 di cerchio) e ciò consente di adattarlo facilmente ad un dito pollice con diametro maggiore.Secondo punto, le dimensioni della linguetta del plettro non sono fisse ma dipendono dalla misura del plettro: la linguetta del plettro di misura L è molto più lunga (e larga) della linguetta del plettro di misura M. (!!!)Quest'ultima influenza molto l'altezza della mano che indossa il plettro. Più lunga è la linguetta del plettro, più alto sarà il polso della mano che indossa il plettro.Conclusione: ho scelto la misura Media (M).

Fits my fingers, but did not come with any knowledge on what strings to hit. Apparently I have to come up with the talent myself.
