I got this to replace a metal edge that had split over time. When I removed it I didn't realize it was screwed in about an inch from the carpet edge. After cleaning up broken cement there was a gap of about 5mm between the kitchen vinyl and the dining room carpet.I was unsure if this would handle it, not the gap but the adhesion, as it wouldn't leave much room for contact.I cut the strip with a pair of very sharp scissors, 1 cut was all it took. Peeling the initial part of the tape off was tricky, I found it easiest to bend the rubber and get a finger nail under the ridge that causes.Applying the edge was a doddle. Just peel a bit at a time, press down and repeat.It sticks very well (remember to clean the area so it's not sticking to dust), and is a smart and easy solution to replacing an old edge.

When I ordered this product I was over the moon that I found a perfect match to my new flooring (according to the picture on Amazon) this was meant to be a lovely dark grey wood grained joining strip in reality what I was faced with was a Manky piece of rubber that looked like it was from a 10yr old washing machine seal, if that’s the look your going for then this is the product for you, but if like me you were after a quality product that looked like the product shown on Amazon then Stay Well Clear of this piece of rubbish (1 star but only because the site won’t let you choose no stars
