I've been doing faires for almost 40 years and these are cheaply made Halloween costume pieces, but they work well enough. They are certainly not "premium" leather. I doubt they are even bonded leather. Those are rivets, not snaps, so you'll have to remember to put them on your belt before doing everything up, and you won't be able to remove them without a hassle. Skirt hikes are a simple tool, so of course they work just fine, but you get what you pay for, and these are cheap in every way. If you're a serious faire person, I would skip these.

My son got these to add to a costume to hold his sword in place. They work great!
