The build quality and LED lighting features are okay, but the optical quality is very poor -- bad depth of field and flatness of field. Also, the main lens has a magnification of only about 3x; for higher mags, one has to look through a tiny auxiliary lens with even worse optical quality.

This magnifier makes my painting by numbers so easy.I was about to give up a painting and found it more of a chore than an enjoyable pastime. I thought I would give this a try before giving up completely. It is amazing I can see even the smallest detail to paint.

This is a very good product. I use it for various needs - HO scale railroad models, currency, general magnification etc. The images are sharp and well illuminated. The charger works well. The small circular screen provides 30 X magnification, however the image will appear reversed unless focus is at a very close range. That' s not a defect but physical property of lens magnification.
