A wonderful book that is great for beginners.

It's many years since I learnt piano as a child and I didn't get past grade 2 so I'm not much of a player. However, this book has been very helpful to get me back into playing, the pieces get harder as you work through the book and you can feel yourself progressing which is encouraging. The pieces are also all mostly classical so better for learning. ( I think). Mauro Costa has done a very good job in reworking the music to help you to achieve this measurable progress.

I recently picked up 37 Simplified Classical Pieces for Piano by Mauro Costa, and it's been a game changer for my piano practice. Love this book of sheet music! I took 5 years of piano as a kid and am just getting back into it. I’ve dabbled in playing here and there since quitting and thought this would be an easy boon to get me back into it but honestly… it’s harder than I thought! I’d say it’s late beginner or early intermediate. I can read music but I’m definitely rusty. And I struggled. Still doable if you stick with it which is just the amount of effort I wanted. But if you’re looking for a truly beginner book, this may be a bit challenging. One of the highlights is the ability to scan the QR code on one of the first pages and you can hear each song played. It’s a total game changer. you can listen to each track and figure out which song you’d like to learn as you excitedly hear a classical piece you’re familiar with and also so you can use the audio to more easily learn the song and hear the tempo/what it’s supposed to sound like.

I have long been looking for sheet music of famous and at the same time simply written songs. I finally found this book which I am using with my beginner students and I must say that I am having a great time and I highly recommend it.
