The pack contains the aluminium drilling locator tool, along with a number of other accessories, including various wrenches and drill sleeves. We'll see how well they fare with use, but there's two points I can make having used the tool over the weekend.Firstly, it's a easy to set up and the user can set panel width to ensure the hole is dead centre of the board you're drilling into. It's also very easy to set the depth of cut as required using the height scale on the on the inside of the device along with judicious use of the brass collars that fit around the drill bits. In summary, the locator jig itself is an excellent toolHowever, there was one element that was not well thought out.The object of the tool is, obviously enough, to drill holes in your woodwork, which line up with holes in other pieces of woodwork. There is no really clean way to ensure that the placement of the hole lines up perfectly with the hole you will drill in the 'other' piece of wood. Having spotted this issue, I used a calliper to scribe the centreline on the piece so I can match the markings I made on the wood. Having made this small modification, drilling the dowel holes accurately became much easier.The huge down side is the stunningly poor drill-bits. The brad-point bits would be perfect for drilling wood, but the run-off was the worst I've ever seen. it was so bad that I really thought that, having checked to make sure that the bit was properly gripped in the chuck, that the chuck itself was broken. It wasn't.I wish I'd kept it to demonstrate how malformed the bits were, but the 10mm bit got hurled across the workshop in disgust and is lost under a bench.Fortunately, I've got a selection of drill bits in the shop already, so it wasn't a big issue. Just be aware, however, that this might be an issue with the set delivered.In summary, the tool itself is fine and with the one modification, it's perfectly serviceable.Given the cost however (hint: shop around, the exact same device is available at a price that's 1/3 cheaper than the price I paid!) I would expect that the whole package met the same high standards, not that the tool would be supplied with such low quality accessories.
