I bought this double-sided transparent tape because I like to use such tape instead of drilling holes in the wall - I used it to mount rubber bits on the wall to protect the walls from the door handles hitting into them. It's perfect for this, and the bits are stuck so strongly to the wall, the only way to get it off is to tear off some paint with it (this isn't ideal - supposedly a painting mistake, but it means that the tape is strong!). I even mounted a stainless steel with rubber door stop with the front door (which is quite heavy) and it still sticks!On the other hand, I also have some old hangers which used to have their own mounting tape. When I tore these off the first time, some of them still have some bits of tape / sticky stuff which make their surface uneven. If I don't remove this (which is a painstaking, annoying process) then this tape will stick - but my hanger will fall right off if I hang anything on it (even very light items). In that sense - their non-transparent double-sided tape works better for such uneven surfaces. Even then, glue might be better (but with glue, I'm afraid to damage the material to which I'm hanging the item up against).All in all, I'm happy as it's strong, but I'm a bit iffy about the true sticking power (also because - the side which is around the tape (which you don't remove a plastic lining from), is less sticky than the side from which you remove the plastic lining from. I wish they had perhaps, instead of a roll, just sold smaller bits with plastic on both sides, so that it's easier to cut and store, too (as now, the side of the tape roll is sticky and so lint and other stuff magically sticks to it). These are the reasons I deducted 1 star.
