Using this to expand the ssd of my Mac M2 for a fraction of the price that Apple charges. This is one of maybe three high-end alternatives for people that need or just want 3GB/s speeds from their external devices. But not every ssd that should in theory be fast enough will get those speeds. So better check the compatibility list on the Acasis web site. I picked the WD Black SN850X because it is cheap right now but there are cheaper alternatives if you really want to save a few bucks.

I paired the Acasis tb3 nvme enclosure with the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB. As storage for my M2 Mac Mini given the insane prices Apple charges for it’s storage. After some reasearch this seems the best combo. With 3000MB/s read and write this delivers the performance I was expecting. The included cooling pads work fine. Keep in mind that you have to cut them. One part of the nvme is slightly higher then the other half. Apply 0,5mm on the heigher side and 1mm on the other.

This enclosure actually provides good Thunderbolt/usb4 speeds.I am using the Crucial P3 1Tb I’m getting about 2400-2500 read/writes. Other enclosures were only providing about 1200-1500.Enclosure is tool-less. You can open and install the SSD without needing a screwdriver using a clever plastic clip and magnet system.100% recommend if you’re using a Mac. If you grab an even faster SSD you can get faster speeds but this enclosure is hard to beat. Easy recommendation.

SPEED:I used this combination of nvme + acasis because of the cheap price of the Crucial P3 Plus 4TB. Partitioned in 3TB for mac and 1TB for windows. Sadly with the 1TB exfat partition in windows this ACASIS does not perform as expected, 2911mb/s read and 482 mb/s write speeds are not ideal. After some research I found out that this is normal as the nvme is not fully compatible with the ACASIS. Therefore my 3/5 stars rating.In macOS it performs best with the expected speeds.Temperatures.I applied extra cooling pad on top of the SSD so it touches the metal, otherwise the stock pads are not enough. The temperatures does not exceed 45 celsius, when in heavy use. When in standby it sits comfortable @30 - 35 celsius.Aspect, looks:Looks beautiful, and minimalistic enough for my setup. However the laser written PUSH is ugly to watch all day so I put a mirror stiker on top of it. Also, the ugly green working indicator light is in the back, where the connector is, so no problems there.Conclusion:Definetively recommended, BUT buy it at your own risk, performance can be bad with some NVME SSD's. Not a perfect product, hopefully we see a version 2 where they fix the issues of this casis from ACASIS.

Ik heb deze Acasis gekocht voor een Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe en met mijn Mac Mini M2Pro 32GB/1TB haalt hij snelheden tegen de 3000 GBps. Dat is een prima prestatie; data overdracht gaat heel snel. Een goede aankoop dus.

erg tevreden met deze aankoop. samen met een Samsung PCIe 4.0 NVMe M2 SSD aangeschaft en dat werkt perfect. ook heel eenvoudig te installeren. Klein - Supersnel - Gebruikersgemak voor redelijke prijs

High transfer rates with the right ssd.Heat is transferred via the aluminum case. Some thicker sticky heat transfer tape would be better though. A thin and one thicker tape is included.

Na berichten over snelle behuizingen zowel deze als de ACASA besteld. In de praktijk waren ze vrijwel identiek. De Anyoyo had alleen ook nog een siliconen omhulsel. Maar inmiddels zijn er voor vergelijkbare prijzen snellere behuizingen die echt USB 4 ondersteunen, gebaseerd op de ASM2464 controller. Levering was overigens wel snel.

Hi Ihr lieben Rezensionisten,zu erst einmal ist das ganze nicht billig! Zusammen mit einer 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe-M.2 (der gebe ich nebenbei auch 5 Sterne, obwohl ich Samsung gar nicht mag) habe ich über 300€ bezahlt! Dafür bekommt man auch schon einen Mini PC oder ein billiges Laptop. Aber ich wollte beides nicht, sondern eine schnelle externe SSD für meinen Mac Studio! Warum? Weil Apple unverschämt teuer ist beim erweitern der Standardkomponenten! Wie wir alle wissen, nachrüsten bei Mac Studio funktioniert nicht! Aber beim Festplattenspeicher dachte ich mir, könnte ich doch etwas sparen! Also gesagt getan, den Studio mit 1TB Standard bestellt (Aufpreis bei Apple auf 2TB 460 €, auf 4TB 1150 € und auf 8TB sagenumwobene 2530 € ! Jetzt seid Ihr dran! Klar, meine also "Diese Lösung" kommt an die interne Festplatten Geschwindigkeit von Apple nicht dran! Punkt!!! Schreiben ca. 4500MB/s Lesen ca. 5200MB/s!Aber Ohne Witz über Thunderbolt 4 Extern mit diesem Laufwerk, schaffe ich trotzdem mehr als die hälfte und das "Extern"!Leute ich sage euch das ist schnell, sogar superschnell, schaut euch mal andere externe Lösungen an!Aber jetzt kommt das Beste, da dieses wunderbare Gehäuse noch nicht ein einziges Werkzeug benötigt, kann ich mit ein paar Handgriffen eine SSD austauschen!Das heißt im Klartext ich bin in der Lage so viele SSD's zu benutzen wie ich eben möchte! z.B.: ich kaufe mir 4x 2TB von Samsung( die ich alle natürlich "nacheinander" in diesem Gehäuse ohne großen aufwand betreiben kann) habe ich 8 TB zusätzlichen Festplattenspeicher für ca. 720 € + 130 € einmalig für das Gehäuse gegenüber 2530 € Erweiterung bei Apple!Es geht bestimmt auch noch billiger mit anderen Marken! Bei Samsung weiß ich nun eben die Übertragungsrate und die ist wirklich gut! Ihr seht ich bin erst mal zufrieden!Einen Tipp habe ich mir bei einem der anderen Rezensionen beherzigt, das Alugehäuse von "ACASIS" auf den Mac Studio zu legen so das dieses zusätzlich gekühlt wird! Durch die internen Lüfter des Mac Studios. Das klappt prima, es wurde noch niemals auch nur annähernd warm! Glaubt mir Leute, ich habe zum testen viele, viele Zugriffe zur gleichen Zeit auf dem externen Medium ausgeführt. Warm oder gar heiß, war nicht! Das Gehäuse ist super verarbeitet und wirkt wirklich edel, kein einiger Grat oder scharfe Kanten, sieht alles wie CNC gefertigt aus! Nochmal allerdings, der Gewinn ist meiner Meinung nach das tauschen der SSD's ohne Werkzeug! Absolut top!Kleiner Tipp am Rande, von Icy Box gibt es für kleines Geld eine 4x Aufbewahrung Box für SSD's!Ich persönlich speichere jede Menge Videos und Bilder auf meinem Mac und benötige somit ne Menge Speicherplatz! Bisher lief das alles auf einer NAS (Synology) im LAN! Damit war ich auch nicht unzufrieden! Aber das hier ist tausendmal schneller! Jetzt nutze ich mein NAS nur noch fürs Backup!Fazit: Wer bei Apple etwas sparen will hat hier tatsächlich eine Alternative, wer schnell auf seine Daten zugreifen möchte ebenfalls! Für Normalverbraucher also Leute die nicht dauernd an Ihrem PC hängen, selten Videos oder Bilder bearbeiten ist das eher zu teuer! Sehr gutes externes Thunderbolt 3 Gehäuse. Sauber gearbeitet und sehr stabil mit guter Wärmeableitung. Bringt am Thunderbolt 3 Bus (iMac 2019 mit i5 / SSD 2TB WD Black SN777) sehr gute Schreib- und Lese-Werte - siehe Bild. Läuft jetzt bereits 6 Monate als Systemdisk im täglichen Betrieb ohne Ausfall. Einen iMac mit USB C Anschluss (ab 2017) muss man jetzt definitiv nicht mehr öffnen, wenn man eine schnellere und größere Systemdisk haben möchte.Zusatz zum Thema Temperatur: Das Gehäuse hängt bei mir auf der Rückseite des iMacs auf einer Alu-Halterung. Die von einigen Reviewern angemerkte Hitzeentwicklung kann ich nicht nachvollziehen - meine SSD läuft 24h durch (natürlich nachts im Sleepmode - auch beim Aufwachen keine Probleme) und die bisherige maximal Temperatur ist 48°C, also 40°C unterhalb der kritischen Grenze.

Construction is very solid - and it's the perfect size for my mobile music performance gig. Even though my m.2 NVMe drive was not listed as a recommended option, it works great, with well over 2600+ MB/s read & ~1300 write. (using SK hynix Gold P31 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen3). I appreciated the manufacturer including 2 sets of screws (2@ sets of 4 screws to enclosure cover, and 2@ screws that secure the NVMe drive in place). NOTE - description says "tool free and screw free" but this is not the case for this particular enclosure. I suspect it was a copy/paste error where they may have used description text from a different model as a template for this device. Manufacturer also included a thermal pad, which is a nice touch. However, my only "complaint" it was one of the thinnest pads that I've seen, and so would not make the "connection" between the drive and the housing cover in order to promote heat transfer. Suggest to the manufacturer to include a couple different thicknesses of thermal pads. Thankfully I had some extras from another manufacturer and was able to complete the installation. Great product overall!
