Ik heb deze gekocht na een video van John Petrucci te bekijken waar hij het had over zijn plectrum keuze.Dit was de Jazz III. Dus heb ik mij een setje Jazz III plectrums aangeschaft. En tegelijk deze John Petrucci custom Jazz III gekocht.De gewone JazzIII waren te klein. Niet echt bruikbaar voor mij.De John Petrucci plectrums zijn een ietsje groter. Na enkele dagen ben ik ze toch gewoon geworden. Maar ik heb ze toch liever ietsje groter.De hardheid is goed, en ik speel er graag elektrische gitaar mee. Maar voor akoestisch zijn deze niet geschikt.Duidelijk dat John Petrucci een solo gitarist is. En nog geen slechte ook.

Dopo 10 mesi di uso costante solo su chitarra elettrica (in totale 6 plettri usati da 1 a 2 ore al giorno) lo stato di tutti e sei è più o meno quello che si vede dalle foto. Quindi:- Sono eterni: NO. Si consumano e si spuntano, come tutti. Però sono talmente duri e spessi che durano.- Precisi: SI molto, finchè hanno ancora la punta.- Grip: Ottimo. Rispetto al classico Dunlop Tortex ruvido da 1mm di forma standard il grip è migliore, ora il plettro non mi cade quasi mai.- Dimensioni: dalla foto si vede un confronto. Però attenzione: se il plettro suonando vi "ruota" tra le dita (esponendo verso le corde il bordo e non la punta), il movimento per rimetterlo in posizione rapidamente sarà molto più difficile. Questa per me è l'unica nota negativa. Col plettro standard bastava un movimento con le altre dita e tornava a posto, con questo non ci riesco. Però va detto che questo ruota molto meno per via del suo grip.- Tipo di strumming: io suono rock-metal e mi trovo benissimo.- Suono: non saprei dire se meglio o peggio, posso solo riportare il commento del mio maestro (circa 40 anni di esperienza sullo strumento) che non li ha apprezzati perchè non riesce ad ottenere le stesse dinamiche rispetto al Dunlop Tortex 0.96.- Costo: faccio di tutto per non perderli.- Li ricomprerò: SI, mai più senza.Ciao

What can be special in an innocuous piece of tiny little "hard-something" to sound the guitar string? Poor and fancy-free, as amateur players, we tried everything from laminated plastic, sanded-down molded plastic, metal alloys, shells, bone, coins with various compositions, coat buttons. . . A detailed list would be a hundred items, maybe, including actual cheap-picks of various makes and elite-signatures. We learned, good-technique, right firmness, hard-wearing material, comfortable thickness and smooth edges are the basics of any decent pick & style-of-picking. We fashioned our own, saved a tiny pile, over the years. Then, we chanced upon JP, mostly, pulled by the name of the artist, 'cause we dig his music. Wow! Did it not make a difference! John & Jim got this so right! It has all the attributes of a great pick, and, then some. Many of us, intermidiate onwards, tried it on Electric, with prog, rock, metal, blues and jazz. Most beginners felt very comfortable, too. Pick IS a preference, foremost. Yet, Technique being sacrosanct, it is Fast, Accurate and Articulate. Whether one is strumming, tremelo-picking, shredding, angling or sweeping, it does not disappoint. Not much noise-on-string. There may be better options for Accoustic or Classical, though, depending on the players style and needs. One unforeseen after-effect, which made us wince with mirth and pain, we played so very long, non-stop, all of a sudden, buoyed by the pleasant discovery that a pick could indeed be truly-signature, most of us had arm fatigue. Habe, wie wohl jeder Gitarrist, lange mit der Suche nach dem perfekten Pick verbracht und glaube, beim Petrucci fündig geworden zu sein. Da sie eine Entwicklung vom Jazz 3 sind, ist der Pick natürlich relativ klein gehalten. Der Grip ist zwar nicht perfekt, da man beim Schwitzen den doch ab und zu von den Fingern verliert, allerdings fühlt er sich toll an. Zuletzt habe ich aber die Dunlop Whitefang ausprobiert und der Vorteil von diesen war für mich persönlich, dass sie etwas größer sind und nicht so dick. Zudem ist der Grip übertrieben gut.Wie es nun mal so ist, muss jeder den richtigen Pick für sich finden, der Petrucci ist auf jeden Fall einer der besten, welche ich ausprobieren konnte und kann ich jedem nur empfehlen!

J`utilise des plectres de plus en plus durs et affutés depuis quelques années ; habitué aux Jazz III " classiques" , petits, précis , " fontaines à harmoniques artificielles ". Mais là il s`agit de jouer dans un autre cour : très bon grip , plus dur que les Jazz III , les attaques sont précises , le jeu rapide semble plus facile , la tranche glissant sur les cordes . Grosse attaques sur les accords , le son semble plus puissant dans les haut-médiums et équilibré dans les basses , le timbre général amélioré . Mais toutes ces qualités sont contrebalancées par une mise en relief des défauts dans son jeu : peu de droit à l`erreur , l`on ne peut que progresser avec . Je ne recommande pas pour une acoustique ou un jeu en strumming . Pratiquant plusieurs heures au quotidien je n`ai pas encore constaté d`usure à la pointe.
