These ready made leads are an ideal way to add or replace a 3.5mm jack plug. It is possible to buy bare plugs of course, but they come with the necessity of soldering a lead to tiny contacts. With care and practice it is possible to avoid short circuits but these ready made plugs are tidier, a lot easier to deal with and sort out strain relief.I have three audio connections to feed into one transceiver and had previously taken them to a rotary switch to make the connection. The result was unwanted noise that I was unable to completely eliminate. The new plan is for each audio connection to terminate in a one of these jack plugs. Whichever one is required will plug into the transceiver so doing away with the switch. I am going to provide the unused plugs with their own shielded receptacles. It will be rather like using an old fashioned telephone exchange.At £2 each these leads are twice the price of a bare plug, but this is one particular occasion when DIY is much overrated. Highly recommended indeed.

Fine, although I expected these to have more pins. It only has 2, so it's a mono plug. I guess that is somewhat obvious from the fact it only has 2 wires coming from each one.
