Good product, but don't rely on the instructions. Broken English. More like shattered English. You'll have to use the bad illustrations and your own abilities to assemble this item. Made in China.

It's actually quite sturdy, I'm just biased a bit because it doesn't have much effect on my kids (both human kids and my goats). Works good on the chickens, cats, and horses.

We have a large space which needed a gate to keep my cats off the couches when we're not home. This is ideal. It's retractable in the perfect height that keeps the cats from being able to jump over. It's a solid well night gate that keeps the cats off and while they are curious they don't seem to be able to get over it keeping cat hair off of my couches. It's easy to retract and has a very small footprint. However at the current price point it may be outside the range of those to pull the trigger on. However I'm glad I ordered it and it's a daily chore now to close the gate but keeping cat hair off my clothes and hair is worth it.

UPDATE Sept 29 2024 - the barrier is not enough. My cat easily squeezed under the gate. So we put a board across the little bottom gap and so she climbed over the top, climbing over took longer, but she still made it.I honestly feel like the world is not set up to thwart cats. She is a middle aged cat of 13 years, she spends most of her day in her bed lined with a heating pad. One day she yelled at my son because her food bowl wasn't at least 3/4 full and she likes to eat from the middle outwards, no stretching towards the edges of the bowl for this feline. In other words, she is not Houdini or especially athletic, she is a floofy house cat. If you have a cat, this gate will not work on them.I wrongly thought that the smell of paint would keep my cat from messing with my paintings, but I was wrong as I found tons of little blurry cat footprints on my drying canvas.So I am not taking any chances with my cat and my painted stair case. I really really hope this tall barrier keeps her out. So far, she's not been interested in it. We have it downstairs at the entrance to the kitchen and she just walked away from it, zero drama. But once we start painting and I place her food dishes and bed in the living room, things will get interesting.I did notice she didn't try to climb it, so I have high hopes.
