The version I chose to get (April) is made of two thinner pieces of twine twisted together, and you could untwist them and mix 'n' match if you wanted.

The pastels colors were pretty in person. The paper is thick enough to work with, even with a heavy hand. I only used this twine for 5 gifts but I had a ton of paper twine left for future use! I'm really happy with this paper twine and would definitely reorder it!
