I have waited a month before reviewing these puppy mats to make sure I can give a full and honest review.The puppy training mats are brilliant. If you are new to reusable pads the thing to know is that you need to wash them only in a soap that doesn’t have any fabric conditioner in it and also don’t add any additional fabric conditioner either. As soon as you add fabric conditioner they are no good as it stops them being so absorbent.I wash mine to 60 degrees on a cotton wash, I use fairy powder and a scoop of oxi colour to make sure to keep the pads smelling fresh and keeping that smell of pee from sticking around.These pads have been washed so many times and they are brilliant, they have not leaked through at all and the colour has not changed.I have just purchased a second set of these puppy pads as it means I can go longer between washes. Once pup has finished using them (we use one in the day and a new one at night as our girl is now 19 weeks old) and the used ones we rinse off in cold water and when we are on our last one, we wash them all together for a full wash.I would recommend you check for any loose edges and snip those off (before pup finds them and decides to start chewing the mat) make sure to wash them before first use, this will make sure they are ready for use and will make sure the pup can identify where you want them to pee. We use fairy powder and oxi for the pup pads but we use a different powder for our clothes, this way pup is aware of where to pee (as they get used to the smell of it) and makes sure she doesn’t use our other rugs as pee pads!!Drying the pads is simple, we either line dry them or dry them on the radiator. I can’t speak for a dryer as we have never used them in the dryer.The bottom of the pads have non slip bobbles on them and this is good as they stay in place when pup is rushing to get to her mat.We have tried other house puppy training methods but the fake grass we tried just stank no matter how many times we washed it. No issues with that here, a 60 degree cotton wash with her own powder (fairy) and a scoop of oxi removes that urine smell first time every time and the house is now smelling fresh.With disposable pads and the fake grass our pup would chew them up, pup hasn’t bothered chewing these at all so that’s a bonus.Over all very happy and yes they seem expensive but over time they are cheaper, they smell better and once pup has finished using them they will be handy for our elderly girl when she needs them.
