I have been running this 50T spur gear from Hot Racing in my X Maxx all summer long with perfect results. It's worth mentioning that I show my models no mercy! I removed the TRaxxas motor mount pin system and manually adjust gear mesh. I also have the Hot Racing metal motor mounts that help reduce flexion. I also employ the Traxxas metal motor mount bolt washer kit that allows me to really crank the bolts down lowering the chance of movement. Finally, I modified the OEM motor shaft to accept Arrma "D" shaped pinion gears. You just need to file the flat spot on the motor shaft back towards the motor a couple of millimeters.These things combined give me excellent spurt and pinion gear lifespan.

I’ve tried more mod 1 gears then I feel most have. And most end the same way in my Xmaxx with sheared teeth. This one take it. Running a 22-50 setup with literally 0 issues. Spur holds up great. Highly recommend

*** UPDATE 3/23/24 *** I am retracting my last submission. Unfortunately, I think quality control or material has gone waaaaay down since the pandemic. I ran the gears for the second time with a complete total of 30 minutes. No jumpibg, smooth throttle, as I am experienced I understand how to avoid rookie mistakes. This is plain bad management. Their cratmanship has gone way down. Although Virtavon is very expensive for what we are buying, at least it lasts. I bought 3 vitavon sets totaling $175 just to have spares and I have yet to see a single mark on a single tooth. Save your money and buy Vitavon. Or avoid Traxxas altogether.(Old review and doesn’t apply any longer) - What can I say. Hot Racing is one of the best. Literally drove my brand new XRT out front on the road, completely babying it and 15 minutes into it, screech, gears gone. lol. It’s a direct replacement for the XRT and has been amazing. Honestly I immediately took out the stock gears and ran those. No issues yet. Traxxas should be embarrassed by allowing such crappy material in a $1000 car. Not an arena fan but at all but neither of my kratons have done that.
