Der Schäler wird in einer Luftpolsterfolie geliefert. Schön wäre es gewesen, wenn noch eine kleine Gebrauchsanleitung dabei gewesen wäre. Aber der Schäler ist ja intuitiv bedienbar.Der Schäler ist aus Edelstahl. Das heißt, er ist langlebig und man kann ihn in den Geschirrspüler stecken. Das bedeutet, dass er pflegeleicht ist.Der Schäler hat einen ovalen Griff. Dadurch liegt er sehr gut in der Hand. Der Griff ist 10 cm lang und am Ende befindet sich eine Öse. Damit kann man den Schäler auch an einen Haken hängen.Der Schäler besitzt 2 bewegliche Klingen oben und an der Seite sind noch 2 spezielle Messer. Ein Messer eignet sich gut, um Schadstellen aus Kartoffeln und Gemüse herauszupulen. Das andere Messer kann man gut zum Schälen von Zitrusfrüchten verwenden. Meine Orangen schäle ich nur damit. Die Messer sind hinreichend scharf und schneiden gut.Die beiden oberen Messer sind beweglich gelagert. Sie bewegen sich immer so, dass sowohl Rechts- als auch Linkshänder damit gut zurecht kommen und immer eine scharfe Klinge vorfinden.Die eine Klinge hat Zähne und eine Schneide. Damit kann man gut Steifen schneiden. Die Zähne scheiden die Seiten, die Klinge schneidet dann den Streifen. Das funktioniert sehr gut bei festeren Gemüse wie Rettich oder Möhren.Die andere Schneide ist ein Sparschäler. Man kann damit eigentlich alles schneiden. Angefangen bei Tomaten enthäuten über Rhabarber, Spargel, Äpfel, Birnen, Kiwi bis zu Kartoffeln oder Rüben. Eben alles, wo man nur eine dünne Schale abschaben muss.Insgesamt kann man sagen, dass es ein gelungenes Produkt ist, auch wenn es größer ist als vergleichbare Produkte.

This vegetable peeler is super sharp! It scraped off carrot skin and julienned it with hardly any effort.There's two different cutting sides to the peeler: one side is a basic peeler and the flip side is a julienne blade. On each side of the peeler there's a little, sharp metal loop to peel fruits and remove the "eyes" from potatoes.I tried the little loops on a plum but I didn't like the results. I thought it scooped off too much of the flesh of the fruit along with the plum skin. Instead, I went with the peeler blade and that worked much better. The loops might perform better with thicker skinned fruits, but I didn't have any in my house at the time to experiment on.When I peeled a carrot, it was almost effortless. The peeler blades don't move around too much but there is some movement. Using the julienne blade was the same experience -- it was very easy to julienne a hard carrot. You could julienne several carrots in minutes.This peeler is lightweight. It weighs under 2 ounces. It measures about 6" long, not including the little loop that's attached at the base of the handle to hang it from a hook or peg. The head of the peeler is about 2-3/4" wide.The blades don't appear to be replaceable; they appear to be fixed in place. The manufacturer states the peeler is dishwasher safe, however, I'm concerned the harsh dishwashing detergent will eventually dull these marvelously sharp blades, so I'm going to opt to hand wash this product.The handle is smooth and doesn't have a non-slip grip, but I didn't experience any slippage problems when I peeled a juicy plum.Although I have a couple of standard peelers in my kitchen drawer, I really like this one. I plan on it being my go-to peeler.
