I don't have room for a full length pole on my boat so opted for this collapsible one. It is lightweight and the hook on the end is well secured. The telescoping mecanism holds well when it is extended and it reduces down to around 3ft long. Due to its light weight it isn't quite as strong as a wooden pole but a great compromise for those who don't have room.

We jave a large boat & the telescoping feature allows is to grab dock lines or adjust the boat. The locking mechanism is excellent. It cost a little more, but was worth it.
