Works well for checking USB cables where constant load is needed.

Macht was es soll! Wollte damit verschiedene Powerbanks testen.

I have used this to check the capacity of running headlamp battery packs under different loads - and then to replace those that are weak with new. The unit also helped me safely "exercise" the new packs and build them up to their full capacity. Also sorting wheat-from-chaff for mobile phone power banks - oh, dear, so far below the advertised capacity. I have checked the current regulation and current/voltage/power indication against a professional grade multi-meter = all fine. Happy with this item. Would recommend.Improvements? Adjustable low input voltage cut-off, more display digits and a track of mAh and Wh would be nice. I know I can fit a meter in-between source and this unit - but more connection losses at high currents meaning results will be distorted.UPDATE: and the over-temperature cutout seems to work fine!

I had been seriously inconvenienced when a power bank which said it had 100% charge, shut off long before it should. The power bank was fairly new, and quite expensive, so I didn't want to send it to recycling, yet. What I discovered with this tester is that the power bank capacity display does not allow for charge lost during storage, only power drawn during normal use. Running the power bank through a couple of complete 100%, 0%, 100%, 0% cycles using the power meter showed that the power bank was actually working at 95% capacity, and the display was correct, after a fresh charge. I also used a USB Tester Voltmeter to display cumulative power taken.
