Update:While i still like the tablet I discovered a hugely important issue for buyers in the USA. Warranty. There is none. I repeat there is no warranty. Yes you have 30 days from Amazon in which to return the tablet. But Alldocube provides absolutely no warranty. None. Zero. Nada. Here is my chat with Facebook chat with an Alldocube representative:Me:"What is the duration of the warranty on my tablet?"Alldocube:"The warranty duration can vary depending on the platform where the tablet was purchased, as each store or dealer may have their own policies. Since the store is managed by a third-party dealer, I recommend contacting their customer service directly for specific details about your warranty."Alldocube"Based on your description, it seems like the issue may be related to the screen itself. I would suggest considering repair options."Me:"If there is no warranty then a repair would probably cost me more that the tablet did! And it appears that you are telling me that Alldocube does not provide any warranty for their products sold by Amazon in the USA."Alldocube:"This means that warranty support is provided through the seller, not directly by Alldocube. If you’re experiencing issues, you should contact the dealer or platform’s customer service for assistance."Uh so there you have it. The Alldocube tablet is kind of an orphan. At least in the sense that they do not stand behind the product. So no warranty. Nada. They do not even offer the option to pay them to have it repaired. Their response was "go find someone to fix your tablet" I don't know but I suspect it also means that an Alldocube tablet with Android 13 will never get upgraded to Android 14 or 15. There is no after sale service. Keep this in mind before buying the tabletYour best solution is a) find another brand that does stand behind their product or b) purchase the extended service contract offered by Amazon. Which will increase the price of the table proportionally. You may want to consider that price increase in your decision. The tablet may or may not be much of a "deal" if you have to buy your own warranty. Or you can always just roll the dice and see if you win. Keep your fingers crossed that the tablet is not a 90 day disposable. And here is my review of the tablet BEFORE I learned there is no warranty.Plus: Nice screen, relatively fast once it boots up, decent battery life. Sound is ok. Some users have complained about the power cord entering at the top of the device rather than the side or bottom. For me that was a non-issue. I like the screen size, weight/thickness of the tablet etc. It has a headphone jack! Wow, that's almost unheard of these days. And a microSD card slot. Not just a microSD card slot. It also has room for sim card.I primarily use it as a book reader along side a KOBO. But I have used it on cross country flights to watch videos with ear buds. FWIW my KOBO is a probably a better e-reader than the ALLDOCUBE. The ALLDOCUBE is a much better tablet than the KOBO and works quite well as an e-reader.Cons: This is rather petty but the edges of the tablet are just a little sharp - that is they are not rounded. Certainly not sharp enough to cut you or anything like that. But just know that the tablet does not have rounded edges. So it might be a bit uncomfortable to hand hold. Mine is now in a case so the edges are not an issue.

The ALLDOCUBE iPlay 60 Mini Pro is an excellent tablet for those seeking a lightweight, high-resolution device, particularly for reading. While it has some limitations, its affordability and impressive display make it a standout choice among compact tablets.Key Highlights:1. DisplayAlong with price this was the main reason I bought this tablet. The 1920x1200 resolution on the 8.4-inch screen is sharp and vibrant, making it perfect for reading eBooks, PDFs, web browsing and Youtube. Compared to my Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 (1340x800 resolution), the difference is very clear - the ALLDOCUBE offers a much more satisfying visual experience. Text and images are clearer, and the high pixel density ensures a comfortable and enjoyable reading experience. The screen is not OLED and it's IPS LCD and the 60Hz refresh rate may be also a slight downside for those used to higher-end tablets, but it’s perfectly clear and acceptable for the price. There's also screen protector factory installed. Saved me hassle of installing one. But had it for 2 weeks or so and already seeing micro scratches on the screen protector. But can easily install another one if it gets too bad.2. Portability and BuildWeighing just over 300g and featuring a slim design, the tablet is easy to carry and hold for extended periods, making it ideal for reading and on-the-go use. People with larger hands can easily hold with one hand from the back. It's light because it's made from light metal at the back and plastic on top and bottom of the tablet, presumably for better signal. It does feel solid enough to take a few knocks. I always put a case on my mobiles and tablets. There are limited selection of cases for this tablet and I've bought and reviewed AKNICI Case for ALLDOCUBE iPlay 60 Mini Pro Tablet on here. The USB-C port for charging is at the top of the tablet for some reason but doesn't cause any issues.3. OS and PerformanceThe Helio G99 processor handles everyday tasks with ease. Since I’m not a gamer, I didn’t need a particularly powerful processor, and this tablet more than meets my needs. The default ALLDOCUBE OS is very close to stock Android but I replaced with Nova Launcher which I was more comfortable with. Also, another thing I found annoying is I'm used to Samsung tablets where the back navigation button is on the right. Default back button is on the left. I could not find a satisfactory way to change this. But I think this is more to do with Android 14 than the tablet itself. It does allow you to change to swipe gestures which I can't get used to. I still prefer buttons.4. Expandable StorageThe inclusion of Micro SD card support is a great addition to the already generous 128GB, allowing for expanded storage easily and not costing arm and a leg.5. Battery LifeBattery life is OK so far, lasting a full day easily with moderate use, including reading and browsing web and light Youtube. Time will tell as I've only had this for 2 weeks or so at the time of writing review.6. 4G LTE CapabilityThe tablet includes 4G LTE sim support, though I haven’t used this feature yet and unlikely to do it. Prefer to use hotspot with my mobile when data is needed. But it’s a great option for those who want mobile connectivity on the go without a mobile.Value for MoneyI purchased this tablet during the recent Black Friday sales, which made it an even better deal. The quality and performance at this price point are exceptional, especially for those prioritising reading and casual use.Alternatives Considered:I did alot of research before buying this. My criteria was a low cost high resolution 8 inch tablet. Most of the 8 inch ones had low resolution like my Samung Tab A9 at 1340x800 resolution. The other higher resolution ones I researched included:• iPad Mini 7 (2266x1488): A great device, but the high price made it out of my budget, and not Android.• Lenovo Legion Tab Y700 (2560x1600): Another great 8-inch Android tablet more for gamers and available to buy internationally but limited by its Chinese ROM, which made it less user-friendly for international users. The UK (Global) version again had a high price and out of my budget. Also too powerful for my needs.• Update 19/02/2025 - DOALLCUDE iPlay 60 Mini Turbo: This Turbo version is very similar to the Pro version but with new processor bump and video output feature via USB-C. There maybe more features but I saw this on Amazon UK for about £180 which is more than the Pro version. For my needs I'll still stick with the Pro version.Room for Improvement:• Refresh Rate: The 60Hz refresh rate is acceptable for this price range but doesn’t match higher-end tablets.• ALLDOCUBE OS: The default OS is OK but can be easily switched to other launchers like Nova Launcher to enhance usability.• Speakers and Cameras: Speakers are average quality, which is fine for Youtube and videos. I don't use this tablet for music, and also don't intend to use the camera. Conclusion:The ALLDOCUBE iPlay 60 Mini Pro is a fantastic tablet. Its sharp, high-resolution display offers a significant improvement over devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, delivering a much more satisfying visual experience. The inclusion of Micro SD card support further enhances its versatility.Despite minor trade-offs like the 60Hz refresh rate and average speakers, the tablet’s affordability, portability, and high-resolution display make it an excellent choice. I would easily recommend this tablet to anyone looking for a compact, affordable device for reading and everyday tasks.Time will tell if this tablet is reliable but for now it's a gem of a tablet.
