I always like getting electronic parts in sets like this. It's not as economical if you're buying a lot of parts, but as a DIYer who wants to have a variety of options on hand, I'd rather have a bulk pack than a bunch of the same parts.These work pretty well, and even though I haven't tested every single component, the ones I have all worked and pretty much according to the specs. The single HS0038 receiver I tested didn't seem to work as far as it should (using the matching emitter diode) but it could have been user-error or just a one-off. Either way, it still worked and I don't need the full distance it's rated for. It should work well with multiple and/or higher-powered emitters -- which is probably how I'll be using these.The emitters LEDs do show up on a cellular phone camera, but if you use a periodic short burst, it would essentially be undetectable with a casual sweep.For only $10, this is a fair price given the variety and a nice little storage container as well. Five stars.

This kit came with a good variety of emitters and receivers in different sizes. The components were clearly labeled and easy to sort through. I used a few for a small electronics project, and they worked as expected. The pins were straight and soldered cleanly without any issues. It’s helpful that the set includes multiple types of receivers, so I didn’t have to dig through other supplies to test things out. Nice to have everything together in one pack for quick prototyping or repairs. I’ll keep the extras around for future builds.
