It's definitely working but it doesn't feel very secure because it doesn't sit perfectly on the bridge. I'm worried it might come off from the bridge with vibrations and fall onto the violin's surface, so I'm returning it. I shared a photo with four mutes, arranged from the least to the most muted (from left to right). I'm not happy with the black plastic one because it distorts the sound, especially on the g string. The red one, which seems to be a mix of plastic and iron, is the one I'm most satisfied with.

Well made solid mute. Will last a lifetime. Much quieter than the rubber alternative

Doesn't fit either of my bridges. Only 2mm wide, not 3, and won't slide onto my bridge. Looks like it's well made, I'll give it that. Not worth buying or returning.

Works very well, the most powerful mute I've tried. Able to practice in the next room to someone without bothering them. The finish and quality is better than on the picture, no sharp edges that would damage your bridge.
