I always worry when I read other reviews, I can't judge if I may experienced those of 1 star, or even good reviews, I can't perceive how strong the muting is. So I ordered one of this and one just rubber muter.My purpose is to use it in an ensemble/quartet, that the main melody is played by a 1/2 violin, while accompaniment by a 3/4 violin which is louder, so it needs to be muted instead of the players consciously quiet it down to accommodate just the other instrument limitations and irrelevant to the players' skills.So the rubber muter only lower the volume very slightly, but this metal muter works very well balancing the sound, making it softer and further down into a more subtle accompanying line. The player, obviously still a pretty small size kid, can plug it on the bridge or pull it out easily and quickly in the concert. The muter is covered by a rubbery coating, it keeps the bridge well in perfect condition and no damage/scratches.

Macht die Geige richtig schön leise, so stör ich niemanden mehr, wenn ich in den späteren Stunden noch übe!

La sordina silencia muy bien y te permite estudiar en la noche, sin embargo, no le doy 5 estrellas porque no silencia las cuerdas de forma consistente. Las cuerdas G y E quedan menos silenciadas que las cuerdas del centro D y A.Pero aparte de esto me parece un excelente producto, viene en una cajita muy mona.
