This is a pretty bright and intense light when fully charged. Hence why they send protective glasses with it. Without them on, you can definitely feel the strain on your eyes even without looking directly at it, but it reflects off of things which is what I think gets you. That and the light itself where you hold gets warm. So I didn't use it around my pets just incase. I ended up doing a full walk thru of my house and car and it's crazy and scary all the things you can see that aren't visible to the naked eye. My walls for instance, in the areas I've never cleaned because half of them can't be reached where either set of stairs are, there's a ton of drips and smudges which I'm still deciding how much is from paint or past washings. I ended up seeing several- probably upwards of ten full fingerprints with complete detail here and there not to mention all the partials and obvious smudges. It's enlightening to see how much sticks to surfaces and exactly how much wear just a light switch and surrounding area can get. Then there's the floors. You can see every fuzzy and piece of lint, dust, hair, anything. Which makes me think my vacuum isn't as great as I'd thought so I'm going to go over it well then check it out with the light right afterwards. So much more that I could go into detail about, but that'd take awhile. It didn't seem to lose any power that whole time so it likely has a good 4 hour battery. I'm going to take it to my sister's so we can entertain ourselves for awhile and will be taking it on rock hunting trips. There's an old mine area I'm pretty sure it'd be really helpful at. It's really cool, just be prepared to see more than you may want to, especially if you have kids and pets, but that's also its best point, as you can be guided when you're doing deep cleaning.

If you have four-legged children, you need this UV light. I've used a much smaller UV light for a while, but this UV light is so much better, or worse. It finds urine stains the smaller light did not. So that's really a good thing. After cleaning, the UV light shows just how well a stained is cleaned up.This is a hefty tool. It fits well in the hand and balances well. Quality made.Be careful. This is a bright light and UV is dangerous to the eyes. Use the enclosed glasses to find stains, then turn off the light and clean. You really do want to limit time use of the UV light to protect your eyes. I would not consider allowing a child to play or use this light, even with adult supervision. It's not a toy.This UV light is not powerful enough to be used as a sanitizer to kill bacteria and viruses. So don't waste the effort. But it works well as a spot check for ordinary cleaning, especially with sinks and countertops. Just be careful the light does not reflect back to your eyes.The manufacturer claims you can use this light to speed up resin curing. I did not attempt this so I cannot verify the claim. However, it is fun to experiment with it using US currency to detect counterfeit bills.A USB cable is supplied for recharging. Use the same charger used to charge your cell phone or table. Follow the enclosed directions to avoid overcharging.Five stars.

I have a couple other smaller UV lights, and I figured that this one would be by far my favorite. Alas, that is not the case. It has a really bright and narrow hotspot, but a much less illuminated halo. There is no focus adjustment. Fluorescing objects will throw back a lot of light in the hotspot, which can be overwhelming at short indoor distances. It did expose a few fainter traces than my other lights, but didn't reveal any areas of concern that I didn't know about already.The "safety" glasses are a big problem. I tested them by firing a couple different UV lights through the lens, and objects still fluoresce quite brightly. This does not happen with even a cheap pair of blue light blocking reading glasses I own. Beware!There are basically no instructions so to speak, except a warning that ironically is about installation of the battery rather than protecting your eyes from UV damage. If you get these, throw away the glasses and get yourself a proper pair. However, I think you can find a better value in a light with a wider beam for most uses. The one exception I can think of is if you need a lot of throw to detect objects far away.
