I bought one size small for a 5 pound poodle and it just fit. So if you are in the small category typically with dog sweaters, I'd go up a size and just wrap the end with the ball around the scarf a time or two if it's too long. Nice quality and cute on. I know I like a scarf in the winter de to arthritis in my neck, and my poodle also has it in her neck, which is typically shaved on poodles. So it appears decorative, but I like to think it helps some. She doesn't mind wearing it like she minds wearing dog sweaters, even when it's cold.
