Ampersand gessobord is gemaakt van 1/8 inch (0,35 cm) hardboard en met archiva-zegeltechnologie voor een oppervlak dat zuurvrij, gearchiveerd en vergelingsvrij is en voorzien van een gelijkmatig, lichtwit oppervlak. Perfect voor alle schilderstijlen met acryl, olie, gemengde media, fijne penselen, palletmessen en zelfs impasto. De steunsteunen zijn met de hand gemaakt van hoogwaardig 13-laags berkenmultiplex voor uitstekende stabiliteit. De hardvezelplaat is een milieuvriendelijk product met een zeer dicht oppervlak van in de VS geteeld en hernieuwbaar espenhout. 3 stuks van 3,2 mm (1/8 inch), 15,2 x 20,3 cm (6 x 8 inch)

Good quality boards as any ampersand product. Have a slight smooth bumpy texture different from both sanded and unsanded gesso that one typically gets doing it manually. One needs to try it to see if they like it for particular painting medium and style.

I use these little boards for plein aire painting, they fit nicely in my thumbox. A 3pk makes it worth buying.

For my paintings, I prefer Hardboard. Acrylics glide on smoothly and I can create many layers, which add terrific depth in transparencies. I will go to canvas to get that certain tooth for thicker projects. But, for something more delicate, I will use hardboard. And Ampersand Gessoboard is fantastic, as I don't have to gesso the board myself. The best part, is that the label is not stuck on the gesso, creating an annoying line on the board, which I have to fix - like another brand (not mentioning here). Loyal fan here.

I used this for painting icons. I just started doing this so I don’t have any comparison, but the boards seemed to do a good job.

I've never used these but decided to get this for a stiffer back for my paper and to eventually use as well. Ordered this on my partner's account and they arrived in good condition. No scrapes or anything.
