Ik heb het item 2x besteld en 2x een gespiegeld model gekregen. De microfoon dient links op de koptelefoon gedragen te worden. Bij het gespiegelde product wat ik kreeg is dit dus aan de rechterkant. NA contact met de klantenservice gaven ze toe dat dit een productiefout is en dat ik de microfoon kan bijbuigen. Door het 180 graden te buigen, hierdoor beschadigd het product, en ga ik dit dus niet doen. Ik mag toch gewoon een goed product verwachten zonder productiefout!

Questo è il mio terzo modmic nel corso di 10 anni. I primi due che ho avuto hanno funzionato benissimo per lungo tempo - il primo è stato rotto con uno strattone del cavo (colpa mia) mentre il secondo lo sto ancora usando da quasi 7 anni e nel corso del tempo il bottone del muto non chiude completamente il contatto ma per il resto funziona benissimo. Avevo deciso di pensionare finalmente quel microfono comprando questa versione aggiornata e a leggere le recensioni ero un po' in dubbio. Modmic non mi aveva mai mollato e ho deciso di fidarmi, per poi ricevere una delusione bella grossa.70 euro per un microfono e non si sprecano a mettere un adesivo decente. Non è il mio primo rodeo a installare il supporto magnetico di un modmic e a testimonianza di ciò i due supporti precedenti sono ancora sulle cuffie su cui li avevo messi, a 10 e 7 anni di distanza.Questo modello nuovo, l'adesivo non rimane su nemmeno per 20 secondi. Ho sprecato ore a premerlo in posizione ed aspettare che si curi per poi staccarsi immediatamente appena lo si sfiora. Dopo aver usato invano tutti e 3 gli adesivi, ho deciso di fare il reso: il vecchio modmic l'avevo comprato all'epoca per 45€ invece che 70 e nonostante tutto l'uso e abuso continua forte, questa nuova versione sembra proprio non valga la pena per quello che costa. Fortuna che so mettere le mani sull'elettronica, perché con un due tocchi di saldatore e uno switch nuovo, scommetto che il vecchio microfono mi durerà altri 7 anni.Peccato, dopo questo tiro mancino non penso che comprerò un altro modmic perché se sono disposti ad aumentare il prezzo e mettere un adesivo scadente, vuol dire che ci saranno altre parti in cui sono state prese scorciatoie e che non ci si può aspettare che il prodotto duri.

For context I have paired this with an Audio Technica ATH R70x (a Japanese open-back reference headphones with good soundstage and positioning that is being sold on amazon for about $350). The mic is used mainly for gaming. The headphones for music listening and gaming. Both are connected to a Sound Blaster AE-9 (a really nice sound card).I purchased this mic to keep my current headphone (love its sound signature) and avoid mayor spending on a good combo set.So as a gamer perspective, great audio quality as is! My Helldivers 2 team actually noticed the improvement and clarity of my voice and asked my if I had changed my mic. I haven't used any audio enhancement from my sound card.This mic falls to the expensive side of the spectrum as you could buy a cheap lavalier mic for $10 of a full headphone + mic gaming set for the price of this mic. However you could also spend 20 times it's price and only get a 30% improvement on specs.... That doesn't necessarily makes it worthwhile but this is not the most expensive stuff.By the way, regarding quality, I was explained by may teammates that you could get away with a cheaper alternatives by enhancing audio with software. However on gaming you want your compute resources dedicated to get more FPS.The sticker that comes with te mic is good enough. I have been using it since the end of September 2024 without failing.The mic doesn't add noticeable weight to the headphone. My headphones are very light weighted so this mic is perfect for me.

Sound quality is horrendous

Das Antlion Audio ModMic Uni 2 ist ein interessantes Konzept, um jeden beliebigen Kopfhörer in ein Headset zu verwandeln. Die Idee dahinter finde ich wirklich gut, allerdings hapert es meiner Meinung nach an der Umsetzung.Zunächst einmal ist der Preis von 69€ für ein Ansteckmikrofon relativ hoch. Dafür erwarte ich eine entsprechend hohe Qualität und Zuverlässigkeit. Leider wurde ich in beiden Punkten enttäuscht.Der mitgelieferte Klebepad, mit dem das Mikrofon am Kopfhörer befestigt wird, hat bei mir nicht lange gehalten. Bereits nach einer Woche ist er abgefallen, was natürlich sehr ärgerlich ist. Die Anbringung ist nach gründlicher Reinigung mit dem mitgelieferten Alkoholpad erfolgt. Hier sollte Antlion dringend nachbessern und stabilere Klebepads beilegen.Auch die Kompatibilität ist nicht optimal. An meinem Laptop wurde ich von meinen Gesprächspartnern nur sehr leise wahrgenommen, obwohl ich in den Windows-Einstellungen alles auf Maximum gestellt hatte. Erst mit einer zusätzlichen Soundkarte konnte ich das ModMic vernünftig nutzen. Das schränkt die Flexibilität deutlich ein und widerspricht irgendwie dem Grundgedanken eines universellen Ansteckmikrofons.Die Aufnahmequalität selbst ist in Ordnung, wenn man eine passende Soundkarte hat. Aber auch hier hatte ich mir für den Preis etwas mehr erhofft.Positiv hervorzuheben ist die Verarbeitung des ModMic Uni 2. Es macht einen soliden und langlebigen Eindruck. Auch das Zubehör wie die Transportbox und die zusätzlichen Klebepads sind eine nette Beigabe.Unter dem Strich kann ich das Antlion Audio ModMic Uni 2 aber leider nicht empfehlen. Die Idee ist gut, aber für den hohen Preis bekommt man ein Produkt mit zu vielen Schwächen bei Befestigung und Kompatibilität. Hier sollte der Hersteller dringend nachbessern.
