When this hat arrived, I couldn't wait to unroll it and try it on. I hadn't expected this wide-brim straw hat to be so stylish, frankly, with a flirty dip to the brim in one spot. The black bow on the back hides the place where the velcro closure closes the loop of the hat, and the bow adds to the stylishness. From the front, you can't tell that the top of the head isn't fully covered by the hat, but the opening at the back helps to keep your head less hot, I think (but then I prefer visors to baseball caps unless it's raining). This straw hat definitely gives a more polished look than a visor, which I have usually worn and sometimes got kidded about when I'm in professional summer clothes, but it also still gives me the shade for my eyes I need when I walk around in the sun on campus or to the train station. I needed a great straw hat since my other one is so old it's no longer useful, and this one is indeed that: a great straw hat! The fact it rolls up will come in handy for putting into a backpack or other piece of luggage for travel since this hat will definitely come along.

We were quite amused by this 'hat' is it a hat or a visor? But be aware, its open top.This may not be apparent from the listing but there is no 'roof' on it.It comes as a flat material you just fold around and Velcro together into a hat. Unlike a normal hat, this means that it can be laid flat in luggage or rolled up without damage.The other advantage you could say is its cool with an open top, however if you want sun protection, your suitability for this hat will depend on how thick your hair is and your hairstyle, if you have an exposed parting on top, your at risk of sunburn on your top scalp. If it works for you, its fine.Worn, it doesn't look like anything other than a floppy hat most the time, the rear bow is a nice touch, its not as broad as the pictures suggest though (its wide but flops down a fair bit), enough to keep the sun off, if you have really short hair your neck might still be exposed but most women won't have an issue.It will go in the suitcase next trip. its current price is £8, there is a current discount to £6.80 which is more like it.

Attention, le modèle en photo avec le nœud papillon arrière noir et le centre du chapeau beige fermé ne correspond pas du tout au modèle reçu, ni le design, ni la couleur. A la place on reçoit un modèle totalement ouvert en son centre et très grand, on ne peu pas ajuster a notre taille de tête puisque un unique petit velcro fait office d'attache seulement a un endroit précis, taille unique et grande donc sans possibilité ajustement. Pire encore le velcro fait tenir a peine l'ensemble, il ne tiendra pas 1 mois. Le nœud est beige et fait de paille en papier (recyclé ?) et non noir en feutre comme sur les photos. Seule la matière du reste du chapeau est identique aux photos. Je ne recommande pas vraiment ce modèle vue la qualité de fabrication et les nombreuses incohérences vis a vis du descriptif et des photos non contractuel.

This is so much better than i was expecting. Folded rather than rolled which then took me time to carefully unfold the wire that keeps the brim in shape to the right angles. I guess i have a large head as the velcro only does half which makes the bow at the back a little lopsided looking, but as i can't see the back im not worried hahaha. Lovely large brim and the hat is nice and lightweight. I think for safety the chin strap is a great idea on windy days, save that chasing the hat down the street syndrome lol. The velcro is lovely and strong, but to save it getting grubby and not able to stick much i advise you do it to the right place and leave it there, don't do and undo it. Beautiful hat, the first i have used for a very long time that i like and trust to stay on my head. I certainly was not expecting this quality @ this price, fantastic.

I just took one star off because the Velcro won’t close securely! It’s a very nice hat and I’m certain I can fix the Velcro problem so only one star deducted! It is a great material, not itchy or cheap it’s actually very durable! Keeps the sun off my face! Recommend💯💕💯
