So, I decided to spend more than double of what the cheapest EC meters on Amazon cost because, as a student in Horticulture, I was looking for accuracy. I was not disappointed - this product works highly accurate. The level of inaccuracy is so low that only renowned laboratories need a more accurate -> expensive product. All the while, it is super easy to use! Just look into the manual and the shrink-wrapped info leaflet (very nice that they coated it in plastic to make it waterproof!) and everything becomes clear. Extra points for the included batteries.Don't forget to always put a few drops of tap water into the tip's vessel to preserve accuracy of the test prod. Also, here are a few tips:-tap water contains different ratios and amounts of ions already, test yours before measuring nutrient solutions to know how mineral-loaded your local water is (mostly calcium carbonate in there usually)-fertilizer solutions for slow-growing plants (e.g. cacti, bamboo, chinese money plant) usually have a lower EC of 1.0 to 1.5-fertilizer solutions for fast-growing plants usually have a higher EC of up to 2.5 and in very few cases (e.g. tomato, pepper, rose) aboveI recommend buying this product since you will most likely not get reliable results with much cheaper, competitive products and end up buying a proper device anyways.

Very easy to use but you may have to read the set up instructions a couple of times. I can not give a 100% guarantee for the accuracy of the meter but I have compared the results against two other testers and they were consistent. It comes in a small carry case and also includes a couple of small containers of calibration solution and a lanyard.
