But it's a hassle to set up and there are many cheaper alternatives that are way easier to setup and break down. That's just my two cents

Initieel was ik enorm tevreden van de Aputure Light Dome SE. Ik gebruikte hem vaak op verplaatsing voor video opnames en hij was zeer licht en kwalitatief goed in gebruik. Totdat 1 van de 'rods'/'staven' afbrak tijdens het opzetten van de dome. Ik kon er nog even met verder, maar dan brak ook een 2de staaf af. De dome is dus niet gemaakt om vaak op en af te breken. Ik raad dus aan om hem enkel te kopen indien je hem niet vaak moet afbreken en dus permanent kan laten staan (zie foto's voor verduidelijking).

I have used this softbox for a couple of months on multiple shoots and almost 40% of the rods have snapped. If you use it in a studio and don’t fold it up to often it is fine. If you have to use it on different locations a lot, then i would not recommend this one.

I've been using the Light Dome SE for about 6 months now and can report back that I am pretty impressed with it.Having come from a stills background, largely used to using Profoto modifiers, I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of light coming from the Light Dome SE. Light comes out soft, without the kind of specularity you often get with cheaper mods. It's really controllable too, the inclusion of a grid is a very nice touch.Assembly is as expected with a tent-style dome, it requires a bit of energy, but once you have done it a few times, it's fairly straightforward. All materials seem fairly robust (really solid speedring) apart from the bag itself whose pockets seem a little flimsy. But that said, I've not had any rips or issues with it so far. I did experience one supporting rod snap during normal assembly, but the customer service from the seller here on Amazon was brilliant - they sorted me out with replacement rods quickly and efficiently.I'd recommend fitting the dome to the light on a stand and using gravity to help stick the front diffusion panels on evenly.All in all, this is great value for money, I'd highly recommend.

The first few times I used the soft box, it was perfectly sealed then slowly light started to escape through the stitches. I took a photo to show you what I mean. As time goes on, more and more stitches are leaking light. To avoid any future failure, I decided to send it back.I want to say that I LOVE Aputure, the company, and have three of their lights in my studio. I've never had an issue with their products and assume this is just a one off.
