's Werelds meest gerenommeerde ukelele snaarmaker introduceert nieuwe Nylgut snaren en is Aquila eerste product dat in eigen huis wordt ontwikkeld om zijn eigen gepatenteerde ontwerp te zijn. Nylgut-snaren zijn ontwikkeld door drie verschillende synthetische componenten te mengen om een composietmateriaal te maken dat beter klinkt en beter in harmonie blijft dan standaard nylon snaren, maar met het gevoel en de speelbaarheid van echte darmen. Een bijkomend kenmerk van dit exclusieve composietmateriaal is dat het is ontworpen om minder vocht te absorberen dan andere snaren; wat de intonatie- en stemnauwkeurigheid aanzienlijk verbetert. Vergeleken met standaard nylon snaren, nieuwe Nylgut snaren hebben een dichtheid vergelijkbaar met darmen, maar zorgen voor een nog verfijnder geluid; het elimineren van de karakteristieke metallic-achtige tonen die vaak in andere synthetische ontwerpen worden aangetroffen. These are fantastic strings for traditional banjo. I mostly use 7B. 6B is lighter. 5B is all nylgut. They all sound amazing. It takes a while to hold tuning. 100% worth it.

Excellent strings with a lovely mellow tone, absolutely would buy again (and plan to!)My only caveat is that bending notes does very little compared to steel strings because they just stretch, but that's not enough to impact my 5 star rating.The fourth string can feel a little odd if you've never played nylon strings on a banjo before but you get used to it quickly enough

I installed the 'Aquila New Nylgut AQ-6B Banjo Strings – Medium Tension DBGDG-Set of 5' on an 1910s Bruno 5-string banjo with a Grover bridge, a Pisgah Hawktail tailpiece with an open G (G, D, G, B, D) tuning. I read on every banjo forum I could on how to install these stings. You have to take about three days to bring them slowly up to pitch - and I do mean slowly. You have to stretch them carefully at all points, above the nut, to bridge and behind the bridge. I lightly melted the ends as I read about on banjo forums. I used a double knot on the loop end. I really like the tone and they stay in tune after 4-5 days after they stretch into pitch. Worth the effort!
