This is something I was thinking, how to adapt an airtag to my camera. I have one in the backpack, but if it gets stolen it's easy to remove the camera and just leave the big bag behind.Then I've seen online this plates already exists and I had to try it. Works wonders.One minus: the tiny window on both sides which makes the white airtag be visible. Solution? I've used a marked to paint black those sides of the airtag, problem solved. I think the windows are there for a better signal.

Having looked around for a suitable AirTag holder that works well for a camera (in my case, an OM-5), I was impressed by the reviews for this Kiroafoto Store Acra Swiss Quick Release Plate for AirTag. It is simple to use. It does come with the tiniest of screws to keep the AirTag inside, so you do need good eyesight and manual dexterity. The screw heads are quite unique, and a normal screwdriver will not work which makes it more difficult for a thieve to dismantle. As other reviewers have pointed out, you can see a bit of the AirTag, but not enough to make it obvious what it is. The gap is there, so you can hear the sound emitted from the AirTag when you use the "Find My" Apple app. The 1/4 screw that goes into the base of the camera doesn't have the swivel head and instead will rely on a flathead screwdriver, making it hard for a thief to detach the AirTag from the camera.The functionality of the plate is perfect. I have used it with both my NEEWER and my Platypod tripod, and the plate is gripped perfectly in both mounts. It is hard to fault, and therefore worthy of a 5-star review, especially given the price which at the time of review in late December 2024, is just £19.99 (instead of the normal price of £21.99, which is still good value for money).
