I can usually find something positive to say about most products, but this completely defeated meI was looking forward to fitting this to my MacBook Air.However, things didn't go as planned.Firstly, the cardboard packaging envelope was horrendously difficult to open; the tear strip seemed to have been sealed over with some extremely tough and think transparent tape, which was practically impossible to peel away. When I did manage to peel it, it left a sticky deposit on the envelope underneath.Eventually, with some judicious help from a sharp knife, I managed to get the flap up, and empty out the contents - two protectors, cleansing wipes, sticky pads for removing dust and "Guide Stickers"But no instructions!When I examined the envelope, I could see that there WERE some instructions, peeping out on the back from behind a large label which pretty much completely obscured them.Trying to remove this label just pulled away the surface of the card on which the instructions were printed, and of course the instructions themselves.I've fitted many screen protectors before, so decided to have a go, even without the instructions.The whole thing was a pretty unmitigated disaster. It proved difficult accurately to position the protector, once I'd peeled off the rear membrane, even using the supplied guide stickers.. I eventually got it in place, and tried to smooth it down. This, of course, started up the laptop, which I had turned off before starting. The fact that a touchpad with haptic feedback, moves up and down makes such an operation really difficult.Something the designers really should have thought aboutTo make matters worse, when I finally peeled off the front membrane, I found that the protector had a glossy finish-glaringly out of character with the rest of the MacBook. And then I realised that there were bubbles under the protector; of course these can't be removed by pushing them to the edge, because the trackpad isn't a fixed surface.All in all, a waste of about 30 minutes trying to fit it and another 15 minutes trying to write a review that wasn't simply a stream of invective.Ill conceived and implemented with iinstructions completely obscured by label

The does protect the trackpad of the 15” MacBook Air and it fits perfectly with no gaps. The application is straitforward, but I found it virtually impossible to get it to adhere without a few air bubbles. The remaining air bubbles aren’t that noticeable and they don’t appear to affect the responsiveness.What I don’t care for is the look and feel of the protector. It’s very reflective and shiny and it feels slick to the touch. I would prefer a matt finish that looks and feels like the trackpad. I’ll use it for now, but if I can find one in a matt finish I’ll replace it.

I just came across this Arisase 2-Pack Trackpad Protector for MacBook Air 15" (A3241, M4 Chip) Clear Laptop Touchpad Cover Skin Protective Accessories for 2025 MacBook Air and thought "why not?" I already have a display screen protector, a laptop case protector, and though I don't use it, a keyboard protector (which came with the laptop case protector.) I did not have any protection for the TrackPad, and though I did not think I needed it, I also thought it might make sense to add this additional layer of protection for my new laptop. Especially as I'll be taking this on vacation, and the grandkids can be messy users as they play their games on my devices. This kit arrives with two protectors, and if you're familiar with phone screen protectors, that's exactly what this is. The cleaning wipes are provided as well as the tacky dust cleaners (which I did not use) and a cleaning cloth (which I did use.). The TrackPad cover had a rear and front layer that is pulled off, and this is to keep the TrackPad cover free from dust and dirt. No cardboard "squeegee" was provided to smooth out the bubbles during installation, but I just used a credit card to take care of the bigger bubbles. As this is not a display screen, the bubbles are less of an issue than with a phone screen protector. The fit is excellent with no large gaps on any sides. The responsiveness on my MacBook Air is excellent. The only thing you need to be aware of is the feel of your TrackPad will be different - instead of the glass like feel, you will notice a bit of resistance due to the TrackPad cover, but that, for me, is not an issue. Overall, I give this product 5 stars for the construction, the fit and finish, and the lack of any negative performance on my MacBook Air. I can't imagine why I would need two of these, but having a spare is nice to have.
