I'm a transcriptionist so did not want noise-canceling or a microphone and wanted them wired. These are excellent headphones that fit the bill for me! The ear part is snug enough to drown out outside noises but yet comfortable to wear for hours a day. The cord disconnects from the headset if you want to. It's a pretty long cord too. As far as sound quality, I can discern easily who is talking and even hear them whispering. I'm very happy with these headphones!

I'm using these with my desktop. Excellent sound quality for a reasonable price. Comfortable over the ears with just the right amount of clamping force. All round sound is great, with strong but not overbearing bass. Sound isolation is great, too! I recommend Audio-Technica (ATH) because of their reasonable prices and the good quality of their headphones. This is my third pair, and I will buy ATH again in the future.
