Using these headphones for a while now and they met expectations so far.Use them in combination whit a denon amplifier for listening to vinyl and occasional streaming.Considering the sound quality, comfort and build, these headphones are great value for the price.Sound quality is good and the bass is deep and punchy enough for my taste. Mids are clear, well defined and highs are crisp. Of course this also depends on personal taste.Longer listening sessions didn’t cause discomfort.To really know if this is also a good headphone for you I recommend to test them in a shop first whit the music you like.

Wanted to buy a good headset for rainbow six siege which is a shooter where sound is super important and this headset is just the perfect one for gaming. Can hear footsteps from miles away 😄 only con is gonna be the build quality as its made out of plastic.

I am an online tutor who spends long hours wearing headsets and talking to students. Because many of my students are young, I also need a good microphone that can clearly project a /t/ and a /p/ sound.This headset does the job perfectly. I never mind wearing them for many hours and my students can hear me clearly. I really like the echo feature in the headset that helps me keep my own voice down. I was afraid that the headset would feel cheap, based on the pictures. I actually does feel really premium in the hand.I am very happy to have this headset. It may be overkill but after all the other solutions I have tried, I am glad to finally have something that works perfectly for me.

Right side is compressed it's super annoying and I already ordered this thing 3 times every time it happens again.

Auf der suche nach einem neuen Kopfhörer habe ich einige Modelle getestet. Der ATH M50x ist es nicht geworden, was aber an meinen Anforderungen und nicht am Gerät lag.Getestet habe ich folgende Kopfhörer:1. Beyerdynamic DT 880 Edition 250 Ohm2. V-Moda LP23. Technics RP12004. ATH M50x5. Beyerdynamics Custom Studio6. Sennheiser HD598.Als erstes muss ich sagen das dies alles wirklich sehr gute Kopfhörer sind, die alle ihre Qualitäten haben.Testumgebung: Audioquenst Dragonfly, Foobar2000 mit WASAPI, Flac-Dateien (teilweise 96/24).Geteste Musik: Klassik, Rock, Elektro (Minimal, Hardstyle, House, Dubstep), R&B.Beyerdynamic DT 880 Edition 250 Ohm:Klanglich echt der Wahnsinn, mit Abstand der beste unter den sechs. Sehr sehr hochauflösend und ein sehr rundes und schönes Klangbild. Ich war total begeistert. Er hat nur einen entscheidenden Nachteil: Absolut keinen Bass! Ich habe dann mit dem EQ etwas nachgeholfen, dann war es perfekt. Allerdings fand ich es nicht in Ordnung für einen KH 250€ auszugeben, bei dem ich klanglich nachregeln muss, also ging er zurückV-Moda LP2:Sehr Robuste KH, der Hersteller wirbt damit, dass er Stürze aus 2m Höhe auf Beton standhält. Im Gegensatz zum DT880 eine Bassmaschine. Die Ohrmuscheln vibrieren richtig, einfach der Hammer. Er ist extrem Pegelfest, die Ohren schmerzen aber es verzerrt nichts. Im Hoch- und Mitteltonbereich gefiel er mir aber nicht so gut, bis ich Ihn an einen Ipod anschließ und im EQ herumspielte. Ich habe dann eine Einstellung gefunden die perfekt war. Alles war ausgewogen und Klang wirklich einwandfrei. Ich hätte den V-Moda behalten, aber ich besitze nun mal keinen Ipod und die KH sollen ja schließlich an jeder Quelle gut klingen.Technics RP1200:Dieser KH ist für DJ's bestimmt genau das Richtige. Er schirmt sehr gut ab, hat einen hohen Anpressdruck, ist klanglich nicht schlecht, aber er 'schreit' mich im Mitteltonbereich zu sehr an und hat meiner Meinung nach ein zu hartes Klangbild. Er ist wie der V-Moda extrem Pegelfest und hat jede Menge druck. Eine PA-Anlage als Kopfhörer, was ja auch irgendwie zum Anwendungsbereich passt.ATH M50xEbenfalls sehr wertig gebaute KH, angenehmer Sitz, viel Zubehör im Lieferumfang. Klanglich finde ich Ihn besser als den Technics, allerdings ist er mir etwas zu Basslastig. Alles in allem sehr gute KH, klanglich hervoragend. Mit Sicherheit einer der am besten klingenden DJ KH in der Preisklasse um 200€.Beyerdynamics Custom Studio:Was soll ich sagen? Er kommt klanglich fast an den DT880 ran, bietet dabei aber ein gutes Bassfundament. Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass diese eine geschlossene Bauweise haben und der DT880 halboffen gebaut ist. Er gibt die Musik sehr neutral und in all Ihren Feinheiten wieder. Klanglich können die anderen nicht mithalten (abgesehen vom DT880), lediglich der HD598 macht Ihm fast Konkurrenz. Die KH sind sehr stabil verarbeitet und schirmen auch wirklich gut in beide Richtungen die Umgebung ab. Was mir auch sehr gut gefällt ist die variable Basseinstellung. Stufe 0 hat fast gar keinen Bass und ist nicht empfehlenswert. Stufe 1 ist perfekt und für mich völlig ausreichend. Sehr präziser, unaufdringlicher und zum Gesamtklangbild passender Bass. Die nächsten beiden Stufen heben den Bass merklich an, ohne das der Klang und die hohe Auflösung darunter leiden. Es klingt einfach stimmig und auch nicht überladen, allerdings wird der Bass ein klein wenig unpräziser. Insgesamt kommt er von allen Kandidaten am nächsten an den Klang meiner Anlage heran (Vincent SV-236 & Canton Vento 890.2 DC).Sennheiser HD598:Ich war extrem überrascht wie VIEL Bass diese offenen Kopfhörer haben! Habe oft gelesen sie hätten fast gar keinen, das stimmt auf gar keinen Fall! Ich musste bei einigen Liedern die höchste Bassstufe am Custom Studio wählen um an diesen Bass heran zu kommen. Der Bass klingt nicht überladen und fügt sich sehr gut ins Klangbild ein und klingt ein kleines bisschen präziser als beim CS, was daran liegt, dass dieser auf höchster Stufe stand. Im Hoch- Mitteltonbereich sind Sie auch sehr gut, klingen aber im Gegensatz zum Custom Studio ein wenig dumpfer, haben aber ein wirklich schönes und warmes Klangbild. Der CS löst aber besser auf und klingt ein wenig 'echter'.Die Entscheidung zwischen diesen beiden KH war trotz des etwas dumpferen Klangs nicht leicht, weil er nicht so analytisch und dafür wärmer klingt. Da er aber eine offene Bauweise hat und ich eigentlich doch eher analytischen und neutralen Klang mag fiel er raus. Wenn man die Sennheiser aufsetzt, hat man das Gefühl man hätte Sie gar nicht aufgesetzt, und das aus zwei Gründen: 1. super bequem ! 2. Man hört völlig ungedämpft die komplette Umgebung und umgekehrt. Für Öffis und Mitmenschen sind die KH absolut ungeeignet, was auch zur Entscheidung beigetragen hat.Fazit: Klare Kaufempfehlung für den Custom Studio! Als DJ-Kopfhörer und für Bassliebhaber ist der ATH M50x sehr zu empfehlen.Ich hoffe ich konnte dem ein oder anderen bei einer Kaufentscheidung helfen.

The ATH-M50x Headphones has characteristics of an excellent build quality, very detailed and balanced sound with tight bass. They're also very comfortable and have slightly more cushiony earcups along with a detachable-cord design (three cords are included) plus a carrying pouch.These headphones are quite mobile and the cups can be twisted inside to make them compact. Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, like most new full-size headphones, have a removable cable. While the socket is a standard 2.5mm, there’s a twist-to-lock mechanism that means you can't simply just be able to use any 2.5 mm cable. The SOUND these provide are amazing for a closed back, and the sound isolation is quite OK! (which I don't mind since I like to hear what is going on around me and not totally block out all the sounds around me).Pros:-These headphones offer the bass that's not punchy or overpowering, but I can describe it as a lot more control/accurate, expansive, and the separation between lows, mids and highs is so beautiful that keeps the sound clean and not muddy sounding.-For music listening these cans make it lively and fun -- the sense of scale and separation is wonderful, and it ensures that the bass doesn't trample over the mids and highs, since there is some low-end resonance you get in a bassy headphone.-For gaming/movies these cans offer that extra bass depth to add that extra impact to action scenes (tested it out watching Netflix show Daredevil fighting on scenes on my LG G3-- the immersion was so intense that it had me punching and kicking the air).Cons:-the cans run a bit tight for a person who is wearing eye glasses IMO, but I don't mind it after a while (since I have been using these cans to watch shows while exercising)-the isolation could be much better

6 Year Update:Wow! time really flies. I've used Yamaha HS5, Sennheiser HD598 SE, Sony WH-1000XM3, and a few others over the years, but I always come back to these if I need to hear detail in certain tracks. These are no longer my most used pair anymore, partly because I got spoiled by the comfort of Sennheiser HD598 and the Sennheiser veil got to me. I now crave a lot of mid-range in my headphones! These headphones now sound quite sibilant and piercing but this is something that I get used to in a few hours when I switch back to ATH M50x from Sennheiser HD 598 SE.Some observations from long usage:1. Headband is completely ruined. I've had to cover it with a woolen cover to prevent it flaking all over my head.2. Earpads were changed twice in the last 6 years. So, each pair lasted 2 years. I tried HM5 earpads but they changed the sound signature and I immediately switched back to stock earpads. Ordered 2 pairs of replacement earpads from official Audio Technica Distributor in India many years ago and have been using them for quite a while.3. Comfort is something that is sorely lacking in these pair. You might get used to it, but you're always aware they're on the head.--------------------------------------------4 Year Update:Can't believe it's been 4 years. These are still going strong. They are on my mixing desk along with my Yamaha HS5s. For the perfect mixing, these are the headphones. A track mixed with these will never be too sibilant or bass-heavy. It's just right. I hope it works for another 10 years.--------------------------------------------2 Year Update:Still using these. There's absolutely no cosmetic damage or degradation. I'd to change the earpads as the old ones wore off. The earpads are Rs. 999 and they are totally worth the replacement. You get the feel of new headphones as soon as you replace them. The old ones got torn off and degraded completely. The sound is still the same there's no change. However, they get very warm in summer, and wearing them beyond 4 hours is very difficult due to pressure behind the earlobe as I wear spectacles. Still recommended to people who want Closed-back headphones and want to experience audiophile sound. I'd recently got Sennheiser HD 598 SE (which were on sale for 7.5k!) and compared to HD 598 these headphones still have better clarity in high end (treble) and much more punch in the low end (Bass is quite controlled and powerful, you'll feel the bass on your earlobes!). Compared to HD598 these are not as flat. What these headphones do lack is mid frequencies clarity. HD598 are very good at that. Overall, these headphones might take some getting used to (because of extreme clarity and high-frequency punch, they might be fatiguing to some people).--------------------------------------------1 Year Update:Still using the product and it has been a wonderful experience. Earpads have become a little sweaty but they can be replaced. Sound quality still the same. Headband clamping force is neutral now. There is absolutely no discomfort.--------------------------------------------Original Review from 2015:So far I've used this product for 1 month and this is my review of the ATH-M50x headphonesI'd been using Phillips SHP2000 headphones before these and these are my first high-end headphones. I'd already heard the sound of Sennheiser HD518s before (Those are open-back and leak sound and there is no noise isolation).1. Comfort:Compared to Phillips SHP2000, the comfort levels are not so great, but sound sealing is excellent.You might pinch your earlobe after extended use as the driver unit is not deep enough for me. (Phillips driver unit was very deep and airy.Also, due to pleather earpads, your ears will get sweaty after an hour of use.The headband is soft and very comfortable. The clamping force would be high initially, but as you keep using, it will reduce a bit and you'll get used to it. During my 1 month of use, the clamping force reduced a bit and now they are more comfortable.Update after 5 months of use: After initial breaking into these headphones they get satisfactorily comfortable. In warm environments, you can wear these for 3 hours at a time continuously. And in cold conditions probably an entire day (8 to 12 hours), albeit giving a few gaps during long listening sessions.2. Build Quality:The wires are as thick as ropes and they'll not wear out anytime soon. The hinges and joints where headphones swivel are also very strongly built. Some kind of a very hard plastic material.Update after 5 months: I wear these daily for at least 2 hours or more. They still look like I've unboxed them 2 hours ago. Wires look like they'll last for a lifetime. Earpads show no wear and tear.3. Sound:Coming from Phillips SHP2000, I was not very impressed with the sound. But then, I was listening to 128kbps mp3s. I then started scouring the internet for flacs and wav files and started replacing my existing music collection with high bitrate files and only then I was able to distinguish how good these headphones are. You will hear every recording artifact and noise made in the studio. You will hear the guitar strings being plucked!!As for the bass, these are just right. Most people have a wrong idea of how the bass should sound like. Usually, the bass is produced by bass guitars that have low-frequency strings amplified by an amplifier. When these strings are plucked, these low frequencies sound as bass to our ears. Now, these headphones have such control over bass that, you can identify strings being plucked even on bass guitar!! Once plucked, the vibrating is what bass should sound like. And that's exactly what these headphones do. Compared to my old SHP2000s, they had accentuated bass and they started sounding boomy and inaccurate. I used to laud Phillips headphones for sound accuracy (for the money SHP2000s are a total steal) but after listening to these headphones, my perception of accurate sound has changed.Sound Stage is not as open as Phillips SHP2000 but for a closed-back headphone, it's decent. You will not be awed by it.The frequency response is very well controlled. Before these headphones, I'd never paid any attention to the higher frequency sounds such as cymbals or anklets. But now they are quite apparent, along with the vocals and the lower frequencies such as bass and drums. There is a perfect distinction between each instrument. However, you may not be able to distinguish all these in the first few listening sessions. You need to actively keep listening to a certain instrument and find out if they are present. It takes practice!! (Critical Listening)Stereo Imaging is very very precise. An instrument meant for the left channel will make its presence felt to your ear lobes!. That's how accurate the stereo effect is (this sentence may not make sense unless you experience it).Update after 5 months: The sound remains the same. Accurate, detailed, and enjoyable.Loudness: I intend to use these headphones for audio monitoring from microphones. For now, my use case is listening to music from my PC or my smartphone. A nexus 5 can very much drive these headphones. At half the volume on any smartphone, the volume is perfect (unless you're going deaf or you are in a noisy environment). You will not require any external Amp. I myself have Fiio E6 which seems like a waste of money now as these are perfectly driven by any source you have (Note: My friends say I have a very high sensitivity to volume and they constantly keep asking me for the amplifier with these headphones. Either they're deaf or my ears are sensitive, I'm not certain. But please keep this in mind before buying an amplifier with these headphones).5. Noise Isolation: About 50 to 70 % of outside noise will be reduced if you wear these headphones. However, they are not suitable for use on the road or travel because there's just noise isolation and not noise-cancellation.Overall, these headphones have changed my perception of what accurate sound should sound like! I don't think I will ever be able to go back to any other headphones. (Unless I upgrade to Grados or Beyerdynamics---but then it's a point past diminishing returns).I would recommend these headphones for those who take their sound seriously. For those who wouldn't want to change their headphones every year or 2. And for those who nit-pick in sound quality and have extreme attention to detail(obsessive) and cannot compromise on anything less than perfect.

Me costaba trabajo entender lo diferente y bien que se puede escuchar la música con un buen par de audífonos, sin exagerar, creo que estuve a punto de llorar de lo bien que se escuchan.¿A que viene a colación los Sennheiser? Pues que desde ese día busco de nuevo esa calidad de audio y esa experiencia pero su gran contra, el precio, me limita a buscar opciones mucho más económicas. Aún veo lejano que me haga con esos audífonos.Entonces viene la búsqueda. Me he devorado reviews enteros de buscar unos audífonos buenos, bonitos y baratos.Pasé por las lineas económicas (y ni tanto) de Shure, Sennheiser hasta compañías experimentales como "1More" y jamás quedaba del todo satisfecho.Y por lógica, me topé con estos Audio-technica. Vine por el Hype de internet y me quedé por las ofertas de Amazon.Los terminé comprando a muy buen precio y mis expectativas eran muy altas, dado los miles de reviews de estos audífonos. Pero OJO, yo no entendía exactamente las frases que rondan por internet en los reviews tipo: "magníficos audífonos de referencia pero sin llegar a aburrir" o "Audífonos ideales para estudio dada su respuesta plana" etc, etc. De hecho, antes de estos audífonos realmente no entendía muchas cosas ya de grado profesional o audiófilo como: Graves ausentes, medios potentes, agudos chillantes; agudos cristalinos, sonido cálido, etc. Yo simplemente tomaba los audífonos y mi respuesta era simple: Me gustan o no, punto.Abro la caja de los MX50x y son más grandes de lo que creí, se sienten de muy buena calidad pero de un poco de uso rudo; me gustan.Y era tanta mi emoción que no pude esperar un segundo más y los conecté a mi laptop, puse en mi TIDAL mis canciones favoritas, me los puse y le di play...Decir que quedé decepcionado se queda corto. No sonaban como creía o como el Hype de internet me hizo creer que sonaban. Simplemente me estaban decepcionando bastante. Mi cabeza no explotó de lo bien que sonaban... solamente sonaban bien, a secas. No supe como reaccionar, acababa de gastar mas de $2500 pesos y el resultado no me había agradado.Primero pensé que era error del audífono y se los preste a un amigo que sabe mas de estos menesteres, me dijo que no tenían ningún problema, que incluso le gustaron mucho y que quizá compraría un par.Algo andaba mal, lei por todo internet sobre el "Burn" que tienen que tener los audífonos, ese periodo de "aclimatación" asi que los usé a diario e inclusive le puse sonido rosa para ver el resultado. Pasaron las semanas y sí note diferencia y me comenzaron a agradar, pero no a fascinar.Hice un poco las paces con ellos y di como resultado que quizá no tengo oídos sensibles o buenos.Los seguí usando casi a diario y un día se me olvidaron en casa de mis papás. Regresé a mi antiguo par de audífonos de Diadema (Sennheiser Urbanite ) y WOOOOW!!!, ¡¡sonaban bastante diferentes a como los recordaba!!Siempre han dicho que esa marca tiene fama por tener sonido "cálido" y por más extraño que se escuche, entendí perfectamente a lo que se referían. Los bajos se me hicieron algo altos, los medios buenos y los agudos cristalinos. Fue muy raro pero entendí mucho del sonido.Probé otros audífonos y otros y otros; me volví casi que adicto a pasar largas sesiones escuchando diferentes audífonos (comprados o prestados) y encontrando el que más me agradara o el que mejor se adaptaba a cierto tipo de música pero siempre tomando de referencia estos ATH-MX50.Tuve un par de Beats by Dr Dre (bastantes hateados por la comunidad audiófila) y me encantaba el BOOM que producían en mi cabeza. Pero al ponerlos un mano a mano vs los MX50 entendí por que los Beats son tan odiados en la comunidad audiófila; son bastante caros para la calidad de audio que entregan.Quizá aún no este cerca de hacerme de los Sennheiser HD800. Esos son unos MONSTRUOS (y hay más grandes) y quizá algún día me los termine comprando, pero mientras llega ese día, me siento con oídos mucho más educados y preparados.-------------------------------------------------ACTUALIZACIÓN 2021:------------------------------------------------------[Antes de comenzar: espero que los lectores a mi original review alcancen a leer entre líneas lo que estos audífonos son capaces de entregarte y lo que no, ya que se pueden topar como yo al principio, que no son lo que esperaban. Pero ya que la escucha de audio por placer se torna algo sumamente subjetivo; puedes toparte con audífonos que te fascina como retumba tu cabeza y está bien, pero creo importante tener un punto de referencia en audífonos ya que a la larga te ayudarán a desarrollar un oído más crítico y educado que al final te va a llevar por un mejor camino para encontrar tus audífonos ideales. Y mientras recorres ese camino, estos audífonos te dan un buen valor por tu dinero ya que son casi multifuncionales como a continuación explico]Viendo que mi comentario ha tenido buena respuesta, decidí hacer una actualización a 3 años desde que los compre. Y sumando que hay un detalle importante que mencionar: Pueden ser los mejores audífonos multifuncionales, solo por un detalle no lo son.AUDIÓFILO: Mi review del 2018 decidí eliminar la parte final y acortarla a la parte que digo: ..."ahora me siento con oídos mucho más educados y preparados" y la retomo para decir que es muy cierto. Me he estado haciendo de más audífonos y estos son un punto de referencia muy importante para probar nuevos audífonos.PODCAST / EDITAR VIDEOS: Estoy comenzando a hacer un pequeño podcast y estos audífonos son idóneos para una correcta mezcla y ecualización de audio. Te entregan buena claridad y aíslan lo necesario del ruido exterior (considerando que estés dentro de tu casa, oficina o estudio) y considera oportuno que traen un cable extra en forma de resorte muy largo ideal justamente para moverte dentro del estudio sin desconectarte.INSTRUMENTO MUSICAL ELÉCTRICO: suficientemente cómodos para pasar unas largas sesiones (3-4 horas) ensayando tus notas de piano, guitarra, bajo etc. y con muy buena claridad para perfeccionar tu forma de tocar. Para los bajistas cumple muy bien ya que tiene una frecuencia en bajo bien detallado y logrado. vuelvo a lo mismo, su buena aislación del sonido exterior también ayuda mucho.GAMING: cumplen muy bien, si bien yo prefiero los "open back" para los videojuegos, tiene como desventaja que dejan escapar el sonido y si se te cuela algo de el ruido exterior como tus hermanos peleando. Te incitan a estar encerrado en tu cuarto/oficina sin ruidos externos. No obstante, los ATH-MX50 son cerrados por lo que puedes estar en una sala de tu casa con tu perro ladrando y bloquean el sonido bien sin perder mucha espacialidad esencial para escuchar los pasos del enemigo.VIDEO CONFERENCIAS/ CLASES EN LÍNEA: Son fantásticos por las mismas razones que lo son para un uso Gamer. Tiene una muy buena claridad para escuchar muy bien a tu maestro o jefe (digo, depende también mucho la calidad del micrófono de tu profe o de tus compañeros de oficina)Pero es aquí donde estos audífonos les urge una actualización: ¡¡tener una entrada de 3.5mm en los audífonos!!. ya que su entrada es de 2.5mm lo cual, como se darán cuenta, es complicado ponerle un cable con micrófono. yo tengo un micrófono aparte pero me encantaría tener un micrófono ya acoplado directo al cable de los audífonos.Se bien que Audio Technica ya sacó un micrófono especial para estos audífonos, suele ser caro ($1,500- $2,000) pero si tan solo le cambiaran la entrada a un 3.5mm los harían los audífonos más versátiles del mercado.

These headphones have amazing sound & the fit is so comfortable, it’s like living in your own little world in your ears - highly recommend these wired earphones if you don’t wanna use wifi earphones full of radiation!
