Turned this into a fun craft project with my daughter.

My middle child is a blossoming artist who is also obsessed with holiday nutcrackers... so she was beyond thrilled to receive this set! She sat down and painted two on the first night they arrived.But honestly, these statues are NOT the nicest quality if you inspect them up closely. BUT I still think they're a fun and unique holiday project. Besides, most of the imperfections will be painted over anyway and won't be noticeable once all done.Oh and we were both excited to see that each is different. And that the mouth really does opens and closes! Besides, even if they are small, they really are cute in person. Plus the box came in good shape and this set arrived quickly.Also for reference: We did not use little tubs of paint that were provided; and instead used our own acrylic paint. As a former professional artist myself, I doubt the six little tubs they include in this set are enough to paint all six figures; and I would expect to have to supply your own paint (especially if you're doing these with young artists). Also know that the paint supplied in this set is permanent paint and is NOT "washable". The paint brush that they sent is nice, but is also made of an inexpensive, non-coated wood. I would be impressed if the paint brush lasted through painting all six.

This is a cute set of unfinished wooden nutcrackers. They are small enough they could be used to hang on a Christmas tree or they will stand up on a table or shelf well. They have paints and a paintbrush with the set. I am not using the paints that came with them but my own acrylic instead. The paints that come with this type of set usually are not the best, but they probably will work well enough for children who may not care if it looks professionally painted. I am not sure if there will be enough to paint them all. It makes for a nice craft project for the holidays and to have your own painted nutcrackers.

Arrived damaged with pieces broken during shipping. They're also smaller than I was expecting - only about 4" tall . Returning due to the damage but will not be exchanging due to the size.
