My 11lb boy already tried the front velcro fastening type and I gave that five stars, however I would say this is better. I found this easier to put on and off - put his head in then lift each paw and finally do up the poppers. My cat preferred the poppers, he really didn't like the velcro noise and it was quite hard to do up under his belly on the other type. This was also a slightly thicker t-shirt type fabric. I compared this one with the front fastening when they were off and they looked exactly the same size to me, I bought the large and he was fine in it but he is a tall, long cat. I like that it didn't have the toggle under his chin like the front fastening one, it was at the back of his head but I still cut it off since he didn't like having it too close around his neck - he won't wear a collar at any price! I thought this was good value, you get what you pay for and I thought this way worth paying slightly more for. My cat didn't claw it but that might have been because he had worn the other one already so wasn't as miffed about it. He seemed very comfy in it, it did exactly what I needed it to and it would be a good choice if you have a tummy injury to cover up. There are side seams so that might be a factor if you have a side injury but if I was looking to buy again or if he had to wear one long term I'd definitely go for this.
