If you need a soap dish, get this instead of plastic.

These bamboo soap dishes are nicely made and finished, and match any decor.I like the slots, which prevent water and soap scum buildup, which is common in ceramic and other solid dishes. The little rubber feet keep them form sliding around, and keep the dish off the surface upon which it sits, allowing better drainage.The four sizes hold big bars of soap, down to small guest bars.I use the biggest one in the kitchen, to hold the dish sponge.Good value.UPDATE: After a few weeks, with either a kitchen sponge, or a bar of soap in these, a bit of mold began to form in the grain of the bamboo. I scrubbed them a bit, dried them, and then sprayed them with two thin coats of clear lacquer, (which I also use on rocks and shells I find, to bring out the color they have when "wet,") and now they are perfectly sealed, and will last a long time. I suggest you do this as well.
