I’ve been an avid camper for about 25 years and have tried many types of tent pegs/stakes. As far as Aluminum tent pegs go, these are the best I’ve tried. The screw shape of the peg makes these hold strong in a variety of soil types. These are an exceptional value for the money, and in my opinion are much better than the MSR Groundhog stakes. I should also point out that in extremely hard, rocky terrain it is necessary to use tempered steel stakes. No aluminum stakes, regardless of price or brand, will hold up to being repeatedly bashed into hard rocks. So just be sure to use the appropriate stakes for the job.As far as weight goes, I’m not a weight weenie, but for those of you who count once’s, these are relatively light.Lastly, I would like to make a recommendation based on my experience: it is a good idea to have a tool roll for your stakes that you stock with a variety of different stakes suitable for various soil and conditions. Before I go out on an excursion I consider the terrain that I will be camping in and load my tool roll with stakes that are appropriate for the expected conditions. I also throw in 2 sand stakes, two deadman stakes, and a couple tempered steel stakes. If you do that you will be prepared for any conditions you may unexpectedly face, while still keeping your weight down due to the majority of your stakes being lightweight. If you aren’t camping in remote wilderness and are certain of the type of soil you will be pitching on, than perhaps this isn’t necessary, but I would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them, and carrying such a variety has on more than one occasion saved me from having to waste time carving wooden pegs or figuring out another solution for securely anchoring my tent.

These are great pegs for the essential corners and suitable for moorland grass, sandy soil etc however they are very heavy if like me you are a weight weenie and trying to keep the pack weight down but they would be excellent for any other type of camping including one day trips , car or bike

My stakes delivered today as scheduled and very pleased with the quality of construction. Very nice reflective pull rope an unexpected suprise. Can’t wait to test them in rocky Texas terrain
