A super-cute wind-up swimming bear who's part of the Baby Born Splish Splash range. The bear comes boxed with recycleable packaging, including the ties. There are instructions inside the back of the packaging, 'though Teddy is simple to operate by winding the arms (of one of them) in a clockwise direction. When put in the water face down Teddy will swim forwards (head first) using a 'front crawl' technique; when placed on his/her back Teddy swims backstroke, feet first. Wouldn't it be fun to try this out in an Olympic swimming event, feet first?!Teddy's head rotates from side to side, and the legs can be separately positioned for sitting or standing/lying (something will be needed to lean on when standing). The swimming lasts for longer than I expected - I'm quite impressed! The body is strong matt plastic and is just the right size for little hands to hold. I haven't tested for over-winding - there's a loud clicking noise after a few rotations, ours is ok if wound a few turns whilst clicking but I didn't want to push things too far. Teddy is an excellent quality bear, and I think very good value too (currently £9.99).The instructions ask that Teddy be rinsed after bath-time, towel dried then permitted to air-dry in a well-ventilated place. It's fine to use ordinary bubble bath, and the splashing is gentle (not messy). There's so much play value in this adorable little bear, the swimming is so much fun and little ones will absolutely love him.

This is a great value bath toy. It is a great size and my 1 year old has great fun with it in the bath. We will also use in the paddling pool in the summer when the weather is nice!

First impressions of this were good, the teddy bear has a cute design, and we know the baby born brand well so my daughter was excited to get it. I was just pleased to have a toy in the house that didn't need batteries or make sound, so it was an instant winner for me!The bear has wind-up arms that you turn and then let the teddy go in the bath and it will "swim" forwards. I got this for my 12 month old mostly, and he finds it hilarious, but my 6 year old also asks for it in her baths as well as she likes making it swim too. I therefore think we'll get quite a lot of use out of it as it entertains them both.Overall, I thought it was a sweet, simple toy that's budget friendly and appeals to a wide age range.
