Bought this for our ten month old Grandson and it didn’t disappoint. It’s about the size of a of a Ukulele and made of sturdy soft edged plastic. The string play sound like a guitar or Ukulele. It has two volumes and you can set it to the lower one if it’s too loud. It has an easy press button that plays a variety of set tunes which you can strun along to on the strings. There is also a magic touch area under the strings that plays different sounds when touched. It was a big hit with our Grandson who likes to watch his Dad play his big guitar. It’s also very sturdy and looks and feels like it will take a fair amount of bashing about. I think he’s going to still be playing with this for a good few years. A great product!

The Overview:The Baby Einstein and Hape Magic Touch Piano is a delightful fusion of traditional wooden toy craftsmanship with modern interactive technology, designed for children from 6 months upwards. Here's my take on this innovative toddler toy:The Good:Magic Touch Technology: The standout feature is undoubtedly the Magic Touch mechanism, which allows music to play with just a soft tap on the wooden surface. This makes it accessible even for the youngest users, encouraging early musical exploration without the need for physical buttons or keys.Educational Value: This piano introduces babies to different tones, scales, and melodies through its play modes. It comes with 5 double-sided sheets of music for learning classic tunes, fostering early cognitive development, color coordination, and fine motor skills.Durability and Safety: Made from high-quality wood, the piano is sturdy and sanded smooth to prevent splinters. The bright, appealing colors are not only engaging but also safe, with child-friendly materials.Volume Control: Appreciated by parents, the piano includes volume settings, allowing for adjustments based on the environment, making it less overwhelming for both baby and adults. The Not-So-Good:Battery Requirement: It requires 3 AA batteries (not included), which can be an ongoing cost and environmental consideration, though typical for electronic toys.Limited Complexity: While perfect for beginners, as children grow, they might find the musical options somewhat limited compared to more complex instruments or toys.Overall:This Magic Touch Piano by Baby Einstein and Hape is an exceptional tool for introducing toddlers to the world of music. It's both educational and fun, serving as an excellent first instrument that's safe, durable, and easy to use. The only minor drawbacks concern the battery dependency and the potential for older toddlers to outgrow its simplicity, but for the intended age group, it's nearly perfect.Pros:Innovative touch technology for easy playEducational, encouraging cognitive and motor skill developmentDurable, safe construction with appealing designAdjustable volume for different settingsCons:Requires batteries, adding to operational costsMight not satisfy older children seeking more musical complexityConclusion:If you're looking for a toy that combines the joy of music with developmental benefits for your little one, this piano is a solid investment. It's crafted to spark curiosity and creativity in an engaging, safe manner, making it a wonderful addition to any toddler's toy collection.
