This is a great product. It’s sturdy and operation is simple, once you understand it.The challenge with installing it is the instructions. In an effort to appeal to as many national markets as possible, there are no words in the instructions. There are simple line drawings. Most of the pictures aren’t much larger than a postage stamp. And they are faintly printed. Within those pictures, the individual part labels are extremely difficult to see.Fortunately for us, my lovely and talented wife found a YouTube instructional video on installing the gate. Spent 10 minutes watching it twice, then installed the gate in a few minutes more. Totally happy with the end result.

Took just a bit to figure out how to put it together (instructions are just drawings with almost no words), then went together quickly. Very easy to use. Takes a little practice to open and close one- handed. Really like it. It's a lot of plastic, so it could wear out, but seems sturdy so far. Grandbaby is just fairly recently crawling and trying to walk, so we'll see how it holds up when they start really "trying it out". :)

I really like this gate. I got it to go across the top of my basement stairway. I didn’t get it for toddlers or pets, I got it because at the top of the stairs is a small landing with a door to the garage and the house. Anyone coming in or out through those doors are nervous about the stairs not having a door. I spent a long time looking at different options and products and finally decided to give this a try. I’m glad I did. It gives a little bit of a sense of security when passing by the stairway that people didn’t have before. I was concerned about the strength so I got very rough with it to see if I could snap it or force it open. I figured if I could break it that I didn’t want it anyway so I’d rather find out now than have an accident later. Surprisingly, it held up very well. I had someone put it together and install it for me so I can’t comment on it based on personal experience. However, I was told that it went together pretty easily and it installed quickly and easily as well. However, the instructions that came with it are absolutely terrible. The person that installed it for just threw the instructions away and figured it out for himself. It’s a shame to have such a nice product and then include such useless instructions. At any rate, it’s installed, looks nice, and I’m hoping it holds up well over time. For now it seems to be a great solution to my open stairway problem.

First baby gate I found that worked for a narrow stairwell with brick on one side and multi surfaced crown molding staircase on the other. This is PERFECT for row homes and incredibly adjustable to any scenario I can imagine. Had to make some small adjustments as you can see but that’s due to my 110 year old homes quirks. Fantastic product highly recommend for urban dwellers with limited or unique spaces.
