This piece is amazing! I absolutely love the green color. It looks and feels very elegant, and the cups and board are quality. I like the indent in the nibs as I feel like it's going to make it easier to move the pieces. The dice are nice, if a tab bit small. I think this will work fantastic for our upcoming travel and I love that it's a zipper enclosure, so there's no way any pieces will get lost. I does lay flat for me, you just open the zippers to the corner instead of all the way, pretty simple. Overall I think it's the perfect size, not too small as to be unplayable, and not too big as to not be easily transported.

The product description suggests that this could be a gift. I think that is reasonable. It does have a pleasant look to it and it can allow a flexible schedule to play, such as when travelling. So, it could be giftable to an experienced player wanting to travel or a novice with their first board.One thing about the case and the dice shakers. They are made from faux leather that is not smooth but felty. The feeling of this could really bother someone with a sensitivity to touch and some sensitivity to felty surfaces.The playing pieces are quite nice, and they are flat on one side, and dimpled on the other. They mostly stay in their slot when the board is zipped up and moved. Sometimes, they can become dislodged; half will be on one side, and the rest on the other side. Fortunately, the playing pieces don’t completely fall out of the set. The 5 dice do have a place to be stored, and they are held by a friction fit. To throw the dice, there are 2 shakers that can do the trick. It should be noted that the dice are quite small and only about a ¼” on a side. You’ll need to be careful to not lose a die.On the outside, and other than the feel of the leather, the zippers have been holding up well. The zippers do a weird thing when you open the game. They hang down so when you want to have the game lie flat, it is not possible. Instead, you need to flip up the zippers when you open the cloud storage to get the “book” to open fully and flat. As for the hand strap ... I am not a fan, and I think it creates problems, such as not lying properly on the playing surface.

I love this travel backgammon set. It looks and feels like a quality set, with a soft smooth leather-like padded cover over the hard case. I like the green, black and cream colour scheme. The lining/board is cream velvety fabric, with green and black leather place markings stitched onto it. The playing playing peices are smooth hard pieces in black or cream with lustrous sheen and marbling effect. One side is smooth and the other has a small hollow, which can make it easier to handle. Each player has 2 dice, white or black, and their own dice shaker made of matching green leather as the place markings and the outer case, lined with the cream velvety fabric. There is a leaflet with rules in several languages, but the writing is tiny. Too small to read even when wearing my glasses, so I needed to photograph it on my phone to magnify it!When you open it, the zip handles can prevent the sides at the middle lying flat against each other, so teh board does not lie flat. I found that if you hold the handles up, and maybe not open the zips right to the end, but just to inside the middle join, the board lies flat perfectly. The middle bench across the join at the middle sides is also lined with the velvety fabric, and works well for storing prices that need to return to the board.This beautiful travel backgammon set feels lovely to play with and we've had some fun games with it.

For backgammon fans or beginners to the game, this is a brilliant portable set that looks great and has a real premium feel. The case is made of a leather material with a nice soft lined interior. The playing pieces, whilst plastic, still have a nice weight to them, and they sit on the board with no issue. The included dice are a little on the small side, but a fair compromise considering this is a more portable set.
